These companies want a mass market product, not a niche product that only tech enthusiasts can appreciate.
I think the paper’s title is a bit sensationalist (a callout to extraterrestrial life in an optics paper? Really?) but it’s basically talking about how these devices can help improve spectroscopy and imaging, which are the only two tools astronomers have.
What do you think is the end game here? Do you expect people to read content that you couldn't be bothered to write?
What if users start using AI to summarize the AI generated text? What's the point of all this?

Good for them, but this is supposed to be the Reddit replacement? A forum that was, until recently, just running on some guy’s computer? I know there are other instances but are there any serious ones?
