hypothesis··on Teen on Musk's DOGE team graduated from 'The Com'
You have to be willing to go deeper to see what can be done.

Say they start fudging numbers at DoL, so only them would know real truth and everyone else is just blundering in the dark.

Combined with ownership of power structures, there is no need for money per se, you can acquire all of the critical infrastructure by applying blunt force. Check your nearest dictatorship for an example, we have plenty to choose from in recent history.

hypothesis··on Smoke in the cabin of two 737 MAX caused by Load Reduction Device system [video]
I wonder what was the thought process there: hey we save an engine maybe, but everyone inside the plane gets cooked in 39 seconds. Ship it!

Comments on that youtube video are filled with industry insiders and it’s just wild. They even think someone has died from a similar fuming event back in December…

hypothesis··on AI Demos
What makes you think that more artificial stuff is going to reinvigorate the business? Metaverse was supposed to be such savior, but this time they didn’t even rename the company…
hypothesis··on Teen on Musk's DOGE team graduated from 'The Com'
The best part is that even if courts force them to destroy all the pillaged data right now, it won’t stop them from making stuff up and weaponizing it anyway.
hypothesis··on Teen on Musk's DOGE team graduated from 'The Com'
It talks about union shops and federal employees.

I don’t see anything about “We The People” being restricted or did I miss something?

hypothesis··on Teen on Musk's DOGE team graduated from 'The Com'
They didn’t publish it all for everyone to use, did they? Not much transparency here, since all they did was steal it and use selectively for their purposes.

Source? Nevermind all the lawbreaking going on, I’d like to see some law upheld by SCOTUS at least.
hypothesis··on Cities can cost effectively start their own utilities
Eh, but we should not leave people without basics of civilization. Yes, it’s a subsidy, but benefits outweigh hoarding of wealth.
hypothesis··on Cities can cost effectively start their own utilities
I appreciate you writing a detailed response, btw.

The issue I have with this idea is that it basically punishes initiative or people who invested in energy efficient products. What’s the point if you can just wait and juice the other guy? Is the climate change a deadly serious issue or not?

Similarly, the part about taxation is self-inflicted wound, where they could have came up with a subsidy, that would have much less complains.

hypothesis··on Asahi Linux lead developer Hector Martin resigns from Linux kernel
> like DARPA and other departments of the American government[1]

Eh, that White House link is dead right now and I would not be shocked if whole department is purged soon, so who knows anymore…

hypothesis··on Cities can cost effectively start their own utilities
No can do, they are going to start taxing (hard to call that billing at that point) you based on your income. At least that was the plan last summer or so.
hypothesis··on Announcing the data.gov archive
There is no need to lie, as this is easily verifiable, eg:

> A federal court on January 31 temporarily blocked the Trump administration’s government-wide pause on federal grant funding. But soon after, the administration argued the president’s directives were still in effect.

hypothesis··on DOGE staffer resigns over racist posts
Threats of violence is what drives all those inexplicable last minute vote changes in congress, simple as that.
hypothesis··on 20k federal workers take "buyout" so far, official says
It appears most of those claims went to arbitration, so we are unlikely to learn results…

hypothesis··on Payments crisis of 2025: Not “read only” access anymore
Alright, I’ll bite. Any congress critter went onto the floor and started reading “transparency” files? Or is it the usual partisans with Xitter files?
hypothesis··on The young, inexperienced engineers aiding DOGE
> Claims from people who have proven to be the opposite of truthful.

Interesting you say that.

All I know is that confidential payment data is apparently being handed to specific individual(s?), known to be partisan actors, who lost a bunch of lawsuits in court of law recently. Am I to just ignore that?

The point is not to shut payments, but to use it in information warfare, Twitter Files Redux.

Are you really calling federal law passed by US Congress and signed by POTUS a rule?

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Privacy_Act_of_1974

hypothesis··on The young, inexperienced engineers aiding DOGE
> The Privacy Act of 1974 generally, and the Internal Revenue Code with respect to taxpayer information, make it unlawful for Secretary Bessent to hand over access to the Bureau’s records on individuals to Elon Musk or other members of DOGE.

hypothesis··on Two men arrested after drone flies 'dangerously close' to Boston's Logan Airport
I would guess that people using off-the-shelf drones (that are broadcasting operator’s location) are not the same as ones using drones with modified heat signatures.
hypothesis··on Kroger and Walmart deny 'surge pricing' after adopting digital price tags
There are easier solutions to this problem than trying to win a rigged race.
hypothesis··on Amazon tells employees to return to office five days a week
Until they don’t.

“The Department of Justice estimates that American police officers shoot 10,000 pet dogs in the line of duty each year.”

hypothesis··on AMD deprioritizing flagship gaming GPUs: Jack Hyunh on New Strategy vs. Nvidia
I’m not so sure, his comments about PlayStation 5 do sound like practical reality.
hypothesis··on Judges suspends FCC net neutrality restoration rule
Or they will just complain how republicans only did “tax cuts” during their recent federal trifecta.

hypothesis··on Supreme Court rules ex-presidents have immunity for official acts
> Why should we place such trust in prosecutors?

Why should we instead trust a single person with an absolute immunity for vague “official acts”? Said person is way more powerful than any of the prosecutors.

hypothesis··on Supreme Court overturns 40-year-old "Chevron deference" doctrine
> Everyone fantasizes about government by an unelected group of experts, until they wake up one day and find out those unelected experts don't share their values at all -- and there's nothing they can do about it.

Does SCOTUS fit into this hypothetical?

hypothesis··on Self-driving Waymos secure final clearance for expansion beyond S.F
They can also increase the speed limit:

> Department of Transportation, with the approval of the Department of the California Highway Patrol, may declare a higher maximum speed of 70 miles per hour

hypothesis··on Tesla in self-drive mode slams into police car in Orange County
What happens when one of the tools is malfunctioning? Say autopilot doesn’t turn off? Is it still blamed on captain?
