I think this apply also outside of "the rest of the world". Nobody bothered to explain that an airbag without a seatbelt can be fatal or that in case of emergency braking the only thing stopping your passenger's movement is the windshield.
They don't care. It works like this for copying over a network (i.e. copying speed goes to 0) but then recovers. They rewrote explorer and now it needs twice the clicks to achieve something. Microsoft at its best.
fvwm is available since the 90's.
But _we are discussing UI design_. Once again: fsck you Scott.
Why do i have to disable the second SIM to send an SMS to a local number ? Why Scott ? Why do the button in messages changes shape. I want to send a text message, Scott, not to give Google a sample of my voice. Why Scott ?

"SW version 2028.01: Look man, i just discovered fire. SW version 2029.05: Look man, i just invented the wheel."
Oh, no.
There is already a trend in Open Source for flat interfaces, hidden scrollbars, hamburgers menus without clear ideas what belongs there, gray on gray, UI elements in titlebar with huge padding between the rest of the window.

That's not how it works. It needs Secure Boot, TLS, Remote attestation. And location access. No need to register as john.doe@apple.com because you already have your license there.
Whatever you are smoking...
> Industry leaders like Apple and Microsoft are too deeply entrenched in their established ecosystems to risk radical shifts.
... it must be really strong
> This talk reflects my lifetime experience as a UX designer at Apple and Google and how the deepest innovations happen at the most mundane level: richer input, better data flows, and breaking out of our 2d windowing prisons
The deepest inovations: no scrollbars, flat UI, no clear delimitation of UI elements, gray on gray. Buttons which change function depending on context, no bugs fixed, just "features", "we choose the colors for you", "no, cursor blinks only at a fixed rate", "you don't need titlebars and borders", and so on.
Can I have some ?
