hezralig··on The 'Return to Office' Lies
Where do you live mate?
hezralig··on How San Francisco staged a comeback
Wow that was not my experience. They were just as eager to call up their friends and hold a kick back while making my partner and I wait only to refuse to file a report for a break and entry of our rental in Houston.
hezralig··on How San Francisco staged a comeback
First time I was walking through Houston I saw a man shit on the sidewalk and fall into it. What was your point?
hezralig··on $750 a month, no questions asked, improved the lives of homeless people
"Those who got the stipend were less likely to be unsheltered after six months and able to meet more of their basic needs than a control group that got no money, and half as likely as the control group to have an episode of being unsheltered."
hezralig··on $750 a month, no questions asked, improved the lives of homeless people
Is there not socialized healthcare in Europe? This would just be replacing cash disbursements in lieu of a total monthly or yearly UBI payment.
hezralig··on Homelessness reaches highest reported level in the U.S. in 2023
Or there is a K-shaped recovery in the economy.
hezralig··on X Has Become a 'Global Sewer,' Mayor of Paris Says
The reason the previous owners were eager to dump Twitter was because Elon offered far more than it was worth, despite it being a cash flow positive business.

He backed out because he was foolish enough to think that the legally binding offer was not in fact binding.

hezralig··on Privacy is priceless, but Signal is expensive
My lawyer stopped using signal due to the sms support being dropped. It became too much of a hassle and wasn't worth it.

Many of my family also dropped Signal.

It is now really only used by the hyper-privacy conscious.

hezralig··on Cruise recalls all of its self driving cars to fix their programming
Was the pedestrian the baby in a stroller or was that the other incident of a Cruise car dragging a pedestrian?
hezralig··on ICE faces heat after agents install apps, VPNs on official phones
Are you referencing LASD Gangs? https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2023-05-17/dozens-o...
hezralig··on SoftBank paid $1.5B to WeWork lenders days before bankruptcy
Or perhaps expecting someone who committed crimes and got caught to have learned how to not get caught.
hezralig··on U.N. votes to end US embargo on Cuba; US and Israel oppose
I also am fairly confused by that point. Cuba is effectively maintaining itself under an international embargo and somehow trains medical professionals from even the United States. Cuba also designed and produced multiple COVID vaccines that have held up compared to the vaccines rolled out globally.

I am fairly impressed by what Cuba has accomplished under these conditions and resent how difficult the US has made it to vacation there (buying +1 hop of a plane ticket through Mexico). I go to Cuba from time to time for free health checks ups and cheap healthcare.

hezralig··on As child care costs soar, more parents may have to exit the workforce
I wonder how much it would cost to nationalize childcare.
hezralig··on People with autism less likely to succumb to bystander effect, research finds
It does not.
hezralig··on Child labor in chocolate industry: 'It is worse than you may realize'
The United States currently has child labor including in meat packing and agricultural positions.
hezralig··on How we’ve enshittified the tech economy
I believe the people who coined the term enshittification have repeatedly said it is a 'capitalism' problem.
hezralig··on Insurance companies fill their networks with ‘ghost’ therapists
Compare the cost of living of Spain to the US (food, rent, public transit) my friend. What makes the cost of CARE cheaper is less administrative agents/overhead.
hezralig··on A journey into the shaken baby syndrome/abusive head trauma controversy
What do you consider a high quality diet? What would meals for a day look like to you?
hezralig··on Reinventing the E.R. for America’s mental-health crisis
Do you mean in regards to under-reporting to save face?
hezralig··on Cruise and Waymo’s San Francisco Robotaxi Operations Delayed by State Regulator
Aside from the incidents where they block traffic, buses, and hit pedestrians. One of cruises cars hit someone crossing the street near where Cafe du Soleil used to be in the Lower Haight - I saw it with my own eyes.
hezralig··on DMT, Derealization, and Depersonalization
I have had great experiences smoking changa and having therapeutic breakthroughs in my understanding of my life, biases I was unaware of, and new perspective in approaches to tough problems.

I think the devil is in the dose.

hezralig··on Canada plans brain drain of H-1B visa holders, with no-job, no-worries permits
There is a far gap between the conservatives fixated on vaccines and the people pointing out that they have a physical handicap and otherwise want to live but are not being given disability benefits to pay for rent and food and feel forced into signing up to be euthanized.
hezralig··on Serotonin booster leads to increased functional brain connectivity
How do you know that it is true?
hezralig··on NYC food delivery gig workers score a big minimum wage victory
I did not derive anything with that question, in fact, I was asking you a question to derive something else entirely.
hezralig··on NYC food delivery gig workers score a big minimum wage victory
Yes, I was going to ask the above poster what line he believes is necessary to draw when arguing against unjust work conditions...
hezralig··on NYC food delivery gig workers score a big minimum wage victory
As an aside, do you think people should be forced to work for free so long as they have jobs and their work creates value for others?
hezralig··on NYC food delivery gig workers score a big minimum wage victory
I am not sure I follow. Could you clarify?
hezralig··on NYC food delivery gig workers score a big minimum wage victory
As far as I can tell, workers are not being paid for just being online. They get paid a prorated amount of this "hourly" wage during an active order.
hezralig··on NYC food delivery gig workers score a big minimum wage victory
Perhaps the reported data on the prosperity of the average person isn't as accurate?
hezralig··on NYC food delivery gig workers score a big minimum wage victory
Yeah, I agree that there should be some sort of government subsidized program or resource rather than a privately funded company that can only exist by exploiting workers, restaurants, and customers to fulfill that need.

In the United States, there are in-home healthcare workers and adjacent support workers that can perform tasks such as grocery shopping and meal preparation, no?
