heheocoenev··on Spotify will now suspend or terminate accounts it finds are using ad blockers
I would advocate for legal rights to use an adblocker! If we don’t, it’s going to be banned under CFAA in the future. Ads suck! Nobody has the right to force these on me!
heheocoenev··on Crypto Zealots
What ongoing cost? This is absurd. It’s $0, the automation is free, and the config is free. Stop spreading FUD.
heheocoenev··on Genetic contribution to neuroticism associated with affluence, health, longevity
This seems intuitively correct. Neutrotisicm is associated with risk-averse behavior and thus less likely to engage in risky life-threatening activity. A highly neurotic personal can be paralyzed by enumeration of every conceivable outcome, and as such not ever do the dangerous thing. There seems to be a positive correlation of intelligence, so the individual may make long term conservative bets that further increase longevity.
heheocoenev··on Earn a Pirate Certificate from MIT
I would go to MIT over other great schools just because this course alone.
heheocoenev··on Ethereum Now Handles More Transactions Than All Digital Currencies Combined
This is wrong. bitshares and steem both handle more tx’s than ethereum.
heheocoenev··on The Etiquette of the Victorian Handshake: Advice on Opposite Sex Greetings
Hugs are more hygenic than handshakes. Hug greeting for the 21C!
heheocoenev··on Same day ACH: moving payments faster in the USA
Paypal doesn't serve many countries. Has high fees. Can arbitrarily lock you away from funds or freeze accounts. Censors Transactions. Banking law does not apply as they are a transmitter, not a bank. Many many reasons not to PayPal.
heheocoenev··on JavaScript is Eating the World
We live in dark times.
heheocoenev··on Rowhammer-like attack on SSDs can provide root privileges to attacker
XTS mode for block storage. Can't be CBC or CTR, where would you Store the IV or counter/nonce?
heheocoenev··on Bitcoin just passed $4,000
Because something is happening. Large trades from Korean exchanges are driving very high prices worldwide. It means people are fearful of the existing financial system and are pouring their savings into "cryptocurrency".
heheocoenev··on Ethereum Scam Database
Should just display a giant asterix.
heheocoenev··on Digital security and due process: A new legal framework for the cloud era
How about end to end encryption in your products to protect your users from governments, both good and bad? Can't disclosure what you can't see.
heheocoenev··on Little Alchemy
I like the pyromania version "little inferno"
heheocoenev··on Quantum-secured blockchain
I agree that we need to implement postquantum computing algo's for both hashing (proof of work function) and signing (transaction authentication). I don't agree we should build a QKD network of p2p fiber to er this. SIDH is looking the most attractive for the postquantum signing, at least.
heheocoenev··on The scourge of web analytics
What about running your own service like piwik?
heheocoenev··on Visual Studio 2017 now fully supports Python and Django
Seriously? Mate, you can be sure there are billions of people doing things you could never imagine.
heheocoenev··on Amazon to hand over Echo audio from alleged murder after defendant consents
Seriously, screw google home and Amazon echo. If I wanted a wiretap, I'd go to FISA court.
heheocoenev··on The Case for Ubuntu Phone
I own a Ubuntu phone, Aquaris E4.5, imported from Spain via a EU dropshipper. Wouldn't use it as my daily phone until it supported full disk encryption.
heheocoenev··on Cards Against Humanity is digging a hole in the earth
There is no such thing as empty land. From the billions of microbes to the insects, worms; the fungi, the grass... something just lost their home or food
heheocoenev··on Bruce Schneier: 'The Internet Era of Fun and Games Is Over'
The fun and games are just getting started, it's just the stakes have been raised.
heheocoenev··on Spotify excessively writing to drive
How does this not break the signature on the binary and stop execution?
heheocoenev··on Soylent halts sales of its powder as customers keep getting sick
I just started on 1.6 2 weeks ago and enjoying the freedom of this, as well as the ability to control my intake.

I need a vegan alternative.

heheocoenev··on Distrusting New WoSign and StartCom Certificates
You register a domain by spending namecoin in a reg tx, which becomes immutable in the bc. Problem is that when a court says Cocacola.blockchain_namespace is the legal property of the Coke, and the owner is some kid in China who won't hand over the keys, no Corp would use it for DNS.

Names should be strong to prevent spoofing but not so strong that squatters and unlawful holders of keys can disrupt their legitimacy.

heheocoenev··on Distrusting New WoSign and StartCom Certificates
Yeah old java6 TLS stacks have problems with SHA256, amoung other legacy systems used by the old guard
heheocoenev··on Google backtracks on privacy promise with messaging service Allo
Disagree. The average user is not savvy enough to make this call. Secure end-to-end so I can have secure conversations with less technical people, and know we are both safe. It only take one party to escrow the logs to the server and all those conversations are no longer private. E2E||GTFO
heheocoenev··on Chinese Tech Firms Forced to Choose Market: Home or Everywhere Else
GFW detects erroneous SSH sessions that contain large data flows. You need to go full protocol obfuscation to untracked destinations.
heheocoenev··on Transforming NYC's Payphones into a 'Personalized Propaganda Engine'
I was walking down 3rd ave at 2am a week ago. I saw a homeless man with headphones listening to music on YouTube on a link. He had a little chair and was rocking out. It was beautiful.

We might give up a lot, but maybe those with nothing to give have plenty to gain.
