Most of those pigs are, by western standards, inedible. With the exception of the very young adults (and the piglets), their meat is tough and has a very objectionable gamer/musty/garbage-y flavor.
Texas is contending with a similar problem, and if Texans can’t find a way to eat them, you know that meat is worthless.
That all sounds great, but you’d better be sure about the “causes of criminal behavior.” Not everyone agrees on that, and as such, you might be unpleasantly surprised at what ultimately gets “attacked.”
Target has started closing their San Francisco stores at 6pm as a response to the increase in theft. Do you really think that this wasn't a data-driven decision, and that Target as a whole just got swept up in some kind of racist moral panic?
This is the first time I have ever heard the claim that the CCP's hold on power is anything but rock solid. Unless you mean that specific leaders within the party have a tenuous hold against their party rivals.
For those of us who want to start an indie one-person SaaS, this is sobering - because it means that for a while, you’ll be doing all 50 of these jobs. And, paid far less than any of them.
As much as I hate _Kelo vs. City of New London_, I can see the temptation in this case to invoke eminent domain and hand over those vacant properties to another private owner who will put them to good use.
The quotations excepted from his videos are unsettling but ultimately positive - apparently he’s talking about his journey to overcome anti-Semitism. But in a way, the central message is irrelevant. If you’re a VP of Developer Relations, you talk about one thing and one thing only, and you do that with measured, pleasant enthusiasm.
Thanks for bringing some sanity and perspective to this discussion. Just like we judge some ancient civilizations for human sacrifice as a way of securing prosperity (or whatever), someday people will look back on our use of psychiatric drugs with the same amazement and revulsion.
The political scientist Bruce Bueno de Mesquita has done some very significant work in showing exactly that, and has built robust and successful empirical models demonstrating and predicting it. His book “The Logic of Political Survival” covers it in fascinating detail.
I’ve done it for making fake ancient coins - like another responder, I used a Smooth-On kit and it couldn’t have been easier. Though I was casting bismuth alloy rather than resin. One tip, be sure to dust the mold with talc to allow air to escape. Also the vibration table tip sounds good.
I’d say startup culture has changed quite a bit over the past 25 years. It was always highly competitive, of course, but it has IMO lost some of the honor and unspoken rules that it had. Employees are much more likely to be screwed out of any windfall when a liquidity event or IPO occurs, for example, and in fact even junior investors get pushed around too.
I honestly don’t know what has caused this change.
Not investigating would provide fuel to group 2a, the people who will defend China at any cost and against all evidence, and their Western enablers who engage in performative anti-racism.
Whether or not I agree with everything you wrote and sourced here, let me offer some enthusiastic praise for such a comprehensive and well-informed writeup. We should all aspire to be able to post something as substantive as this.
