ghostDancer··on YouTube-DL Hosting Ban Paves the Way to Privatized Censorship
They even pressure some countries like Spain to change their laws to follow MPA and RIAA desires. I recall around 2010-2011 in Spain politicians made law called "Sinde", surname of the person behind it, at the time it was published in some newspapers that it came to fruition after a meeting/conversations with some USA government members, in some media they even called it "Sinde Biden", yep that one .

ghostDancer··on A ticking time bomb: healthcare under threat across western Europe
Defending social healthcare left wing - Promoting private healthcare right wing. In this case it's not that difficult.
ghostDancer··on A ticking time bomb: healthcare under threat across western Europe
It's an organized dismantle coming from the right wing parties, they cut resources and spending creating waiting lists and the deviate people to private services. The promotion of private healthcare it's all over, super cheap prices for now, till the destroy the system and then I guess we will get a super expensive scamming healthcare like in the USA. In Spain several hospitals that turned private were returning to being public because the super efficient capitalist owners could not make it work.

ghostDancer··on Exploring Mastodon
It's exactly the same you don't like it you stay with Windows or Twitter oar Facebook . Why do people have to jump to the Fediverse now. They don't like it they just can stay where they are , everybody happier.
ghostDancer··on Exploring Mastodon
The problem is that is not centralized server and even can be a different type of server like Pleroma, Misskey or any other that supports ActivityPub so it works different, They have to learn that ActivityPub/Mastodon is different and works different the same they had to learn how Twitter works or just stay in Twitter if it's too hard or too painful for them.

ghostDancer··on The Moorish invention that tamed Spain's mountains
They solve different problems. And every culture usually builds over the ones before them. And the Romans were gone several hundreds of years before the Moors conquered Spain and their infrastructures were already decaying or had disappeared, no religious fanaticism there.

ghostDancer··on Everyone going to World Cup must have this app, experts are sounding the alarm
Define primary sources, you mean the Qatari government?, the one that blocks the autopsies?. Because news around are easily found about it: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/sep/25/revealed-qatar... I know we can only talk human rights when is about China, Iran or Russia, Qatar, Emirates and Saudi Arabia are off limits because they are our economic allies.
ghostDancer··on Everyone going to World Cup must have this app, experts are sounding the alarm
"Classified as “non-work related” by the event’s organizing committee", I guess the same committee that bribed FIFA[1] and from the same government that has not really high values for human rights and much less for the rights of immigrant labor force. And no autopsies allowed to investigate deaths even. And there are much more reports about deaths[2] just search around the web . But We know that money washes everything away .

ghostDancer··on Everyone going to World Cup must have this app, experts are sounding the alarm
All the news about slavery and bad treatment of workers to build the infrastructures and silencing or minimizing by western press and now this. No surprise when you organize a thing like the Football World Cup in a dictatorship like Qatar in exchange for money this is you can expect. Just let's hope it does not get used as a backdoor by other with even worse intentions.

ghostDancer··on Blocking Kiwifarms
Even if I'm teaching my children to not publish too much online your comment sounds exactly like "If she weren't wearing that miniskirt she would not have problems going outside, she should dress modestly and then no one would harass her"
