free2rhyme214··on Uber Tells Investors It Wouldn’t Pay Above $2B for Lyft
The better question is, "Why does Lyft want to sell?"
free2rhyme214··on Otto joins Uber
It's an acquirehire and for the technology.
free2rhyme214··on To Cut Down Poverty, Cut Down the Cost of Living
Financial education isn't taught in school. I recommend showing your kids Rich Dad Poor Dad as well.
free2rhyme214··on Uber to Sell China Business to Rival Didi After Losing Billions
Kudos to Uber. They did better than Google.
free2rhyme214··on Uber to Sell China Business to Rival Didi After Losing Billions
And then Lyft mergers with Uber.

I wouldn't be surprised.

free2rhyme214··on Disrupting Uber
Vic Vaiana is naive. Co-op apps aren't 10X better than Uber so it's unlikely people will download them, let alone get people to switch from Uber and retain them long term.
free2rhyme214··on Brazil Freezes Facebook Funds
Because he lives there? $11mm is .06% of Facebook's 2015 revenue. I doubt they care at all nor is there anything they can do about this.
free2rhyme214··on The downside of being happy: creativity kindled by sadness
This is true. How many ideas were created out of frustration? (Dropbox, Airbnb, etc)
free2rhyme214··on Pokémon Go vs Growth Hacking
This isn't an apples to apples comparison. The Pokemon Company is over 18 years old and has brand recognition.

Kinda ironic considering the girl who wrote this works for Periscope.

free2rhyme214··on Pokémon Go Is Teaching Americans the Metric System
No it's not. People just ask Google or Siri. They still don't know that 1km equals 0.62 miles.
free2rhyme214··on Apple says Pokémon Go is the most downloaded app in its first week ever
My work is right by a Pokestop so I just turn it on to collect Pokeballs and dump a bunch of potions & revives.

I don't think the games flaw is making people walk around. That's what makes it unique plus the AR part. I think the flaw with Pokemon Go is trying to keep people interested, just like every other game.

free2rhyme214··on Misfortune
Once again this confirms Aaron Swartz was right about the news - http://www.aaronsw.com/weblog/hatethenews
free2rhyme214··on A Startup Shies Away from the Gig Economy
This is a misleading title. Redfin isn't a startup, they're a 12 year old company founded in 2004.
free2rhyme214··on Facebook Messenger begins testing end-to-end encryption using Signal Protocol
Usability with Facebook M, much like Google Allo, will require E2E encryption to be turned off in order to take advantage of those features. Alex didn't mention that, but I think that's the real reason. Also FB wants to know what's going on in your conversations. That metadata can be used for advertising.
free2rhyme214··on Facebook Messenger begins testing end-to-end encryption using Signal Protocol
Have you used Signal before? You don't have to use Whatsapp, Allo, or FB Messenger. It's just a pain to get people to download it.
free2rhyme214··on Facebook Messenger begins testing end-to-end encryption using Signal Protocol
Facebook took the same route as Google by providing secret conversations. However you look at this, this is a good step in the right direction. I still prefer Whatsapp and Signal because they both use E2E encryption by default.
free2rhyme214··on Investor Day
This is cool. Good to see YC improving.
free2rhyme214··on Email Apps Suck
I've used Gmail since 2004, when they had invites and everyone wanted one. I use Outlook for iOS at work and think it's great, although there's issues getting signatures to transfer when your company uses Sharepoint.

Email is a non issue for most people because most people just use a web browser and a mobile app. For the record, I wasn't impressed with Outlook for the Mac.

free2rhyme214··on Tesla Makes Offer to Acquire SolarCity
I know an engineer who came to this conclusion too.
free2rhyme214··on Facebook threatens to delete synced photos if users don't download new photo app
Monopoly behavior.
free2rhyme214··on Snapchat Passes Twitter in Daily Usage
It doesn't surprise me that more people prefer personal conversations than the news. What surprises me is that Snapchat was able to figure this out in their own wacky way.

Kudos to them, but this certainly doesn't diminish the importance of Twitter. People that complain about Twitter so far haven't created a better solution.

free2rhyme214··on Snapchat Passes Twitter in Daily Usage
That and LINE
free2rhyme214··on Snapchat raised $1.8B in a Series F round
Snapchat isn't useless, but you're right that there's more important problems to solve.
free2rhyme214··on Google Home
Competition against Amazon Echo is always positive for consumers.
free2rhyme214··on Apple invests $1B in Chinese ride-hailing service Didi Chuxing
I was just starting to doubt Apple, especially with their lackluster effort in artificial reality, and now I'm doing an about face.

This is an incredibly smart move and a great long term play which will bode well for Project Titan.

free2rhyme214··on Gboard: Search, GIFs, emojis and more from your iPhone keyboard
Not really. More iOS users, like myself, use iMessage 10X more than Hangouts. Actually since Telegram came out I haven't really used Hangouts at all.
free2rhyme214··on WhatsApp, Used by 100M Brazilians, Shut Down Nationwide Today by a Single Judge
This.
free2rhyme214··on WhatsApp, Used by 100M Brazilians, Shut Down Nationwide Today by a Single Judge
Telegram's secret chats are E2E encrypted.
free2rhyme214··on WhatsApp, Used by 100M Brazilians, Shut Down Nationwide Today by a Single Judge
Telegram secure chats are more secure than Whatsapp's recent encryption because the code is open source.
