fatih-erikli··on Ask HN: Is it only me or everyone feeling flu when seeing an AI picture?
It's much stronger lately. I feel uncomfortable when I see

- an object placed on an image with AI. The edges look blurry usually

- face that make up applied with AI like thing

They look "WOW" in 2 seconds, then the magic goes out, leaves a sick feeling.

I am wondering if anyone feels something similar.

fatih-erikli··on Why do cats love boxes so much?
I don't think cats enjoy being in a box too. They do it to regulate their body temperature in cold weathers
fatih-erikli··on Why do cats love boxes so much?
They feel what we feel when we get in cars.
fatih-erikli··on Stefan Tilkov has died
Feel sorry for him. I like listening to his speeches. He made a lot of points other presenters could not make. I remember a his word in a presentation, "if a solution brings it's own IDE, something must be terribly wrong.".
fatih-erikli··on Investors are happy to pay premium for tech, but not for AI
Well people would like to pay the things that work – not "may work"
fatih-erikli··on Deleting Comments or Posts in HN
This is sad. I don't want to delete my account but my I want to delete some of my comments or posts. Sometimes we write things very contextual to the time we are being, sometimes for humorous purpose, or sometimes just for thinking out loud. Most of the time they don't make sense after awhile and buggens to live with them; so it's better to have a privilege to delete.
fatih-erikli··on Learn WebGPU
I guess it is most likely you are not going to write a program multiplies two numbers, but you will need to multiply matrices passed in a certain way. those matrices are big ones, so you need to allocate some space for them, then load, then do the math, then use them in some other shader to paint some pixels on screen.
fatih-erikli··on Ask HN: Side project of more than $2k monthly revenue? what's your project?
I don't recommend starting a profit-oriented side project. Money comes with it's hussle. It will eventually take the fun part of the process.
fatih-erikli··on Replying to comments about our web page design
I like how the bird levitates towards banner in homepage
fatih-erikli··on Bicycle
I like what you choose as the shifters, shimano 105, which the most well functioning and one tier less expensive than the most expensive one
fatih-erikli··on Help! Is This Arabic?
It's a dilemma, either teaching English to everyone, or recreating the UI style guides from zero point.
fatih-erikli··on Help! Is This Arabic?
Do arabic peoples seek the videos from right to left too? If not, would they want?
fatih-erikli··on A Relational Spreadsheet
The category names are replicated for the each recurring symbol, am I right? I thought you're gonna make it by giving them category IDs as we do in relational databases.
fatih-erikli··on Nokia launches DIY repairable budget Android phone
I wouldn't. It'll explode in your pocket.
fatih-erikli··on AI won’t make artists redundant – thanks to information theory
Great artist will steal from AI and leave the 95% of artists redundant.
fatih-erikli··on Facebook Announces Meta Verified
Noone takes android seriously which is good.
fatih-erikli··on Ask HN: Why did medium.com "fail"?
What you write becomes a very big word document with all the staff editing the same document. That is why authors leave the platform and keep their precious texts in office apps.
fatih-erikli··on Web Rendering Patterns
You don't need next or nuxt. Server side rendering supported by React itself. You just need a node-js running instance.
fatih-erikli··on Ask HN: Why did medium.com "fail"?
Hello, What do 6021 employees do in a medium?
fatih-erikli··on Web Rendering Patterns
Too subjective. If server cost is not a problem for the thing you call "multi-page", it is not a problem for server-side rendering either.

Vercel didn't invent server side rendering. It was always there.

fatih-erikli··on Show HN: Flappy Bird and Wordle
This game is originally a supermario. It jumps when you take an action. Not flies contrary to the title impose.
fatih-erikli··on FOSDEM 2023 is live now
Looks like they are presented in a real venue. Is there anybody watching there offline?
fatih-erikli··on Easter egg in flight path of last 747 delivery flight
Great, another proof showing they don't provide real data
fatih-erikli··on Netlify acquires Gatsby
Does it matter? How many person do you know around your circle, uses netlify or gatsby? It sounds like a cdn business to me
fatih-erikli··on Netlify acquires Gatsby
It's fastly. Fastly dns' points to a server in located in CA.
fatih-erikli··on Netlify acquires Gatsby
Gatsby was an open-source project. What they acquired exactly? Have they purchased a usb stick installed gatsby in it?
fatih-erikli··on PageRank algorithm for graph databases
Common graph databases are network-based for scaling purposes. You do have a database server then you talk to the server somehow for the queries. Sqlite is a single-file database. You do not have a server so you do not need an extra layer in database side.

Instead, Run the graph algorithms on a stringifed json stored as a text in sqlite. They will be running in some process in anyway.

fatih-erikli··on Development Containers
Well we are on web.
fatih-erikli··on Ask HN: What would be your stack if you are building an MVP today?
NextJS/Typescript. For the database, maybe Redis, or Mongodb. RDMS except sqlite seem to be overkill for an MVP.

For frontend, a picocss-like minimal framework.

Django for the next stage. It's good for blogs, feedback management, back-office. Django beats rails. Rails is generating (scaffold) code while Django abstracting the CRUD operations. Clever abstraction beats generated code.

fatih-erikli··on Show HN: I'm a doctor and made a responsive breathing app for stress and anxiety
Can't test your app since I can't breathe

Edit: Health is a gray topic of internet. I wouldn't promote it like "developed by doctors". Medical field has different concerns as you knew. You developed the app as a developer.
