Therefore it's cosmic justice that they should be subject to Democratic policies.
Put your money where your mouth is!
There are people in Brazil who have downloaded the application, and those people are connecting OUT to WhatsApp, which is operating in America.
So all the Brazilian government can do, is BLOCK its own people from accessing WhatsApp through the Internet.
The question is, should the Brazilian government have the right to block websites that it doesn't want its people to be able to see?
Ultimately that's a problem for Brazilian domestic politics, and also a greater issue of human rights. After all, that's how we describe it when discussing the Great Firewall of China.
If he were to sell the coins now, he might incur a capital gains tax, depending on where he lives.
Frankly I don't really believe anyone is educated enough to even have an informed discussion on politics if they aren't familiar with the arguments presented in those two books.
Therefore judgments are enforced without the consent of the people.
Therefore taxation in the USA today is extortion.
All the quibbling about the ridiculous bureaucratic rules and forms just makes it even more clear just what a leviathan our tax system has become.
Second, how on earth is Obama going to force me to stop using crypto, except to threaten me with violence for using it? Perhaps the government will start to license programmers, and prosecute those caught writing software without a license? (Don't laugh -- they already license hairdressers, marriages, and dogs.)
Is it because the Terror War isn't enough to justify the elites' desired levels military spending?
So far I don't see any reason why Bitcoin's exponential adoption rate would suddenly grind to a halt.
"Authorities will use terrorism as excuse to censor social media, but then actually they'll use it to censor ordinary Germans talking about New Year's Eve."
I WAS UNABLE TO TWEET IT!
Whenever I started typing "New Year's Eve" the character limit would turn red, even though I was within the limit.
Then I realized: my VPN was in Europe! They were already censoring my tweet!
I had to switch my VPN out of Europe, AND clear my cookies, before I was able to tweet about it.
This is no joke -- it was a really creepy feeling. And the White House is moving now to impose the same censorship in the USA?
It's torch-and-pitchfork time. We need P2P social media immediately.
Those city council members trying to make things difficult for Uber and Lyft need to be tarred and feathered.
For me, GPG is an integral part of working with email.
Thank god. Can't happen soon enough.
He fled because there is no chance of a fair trial. (You can Google the specifics, but he wouldn't have been able to present his case at trial -- not that he should be facing a trial in the first place, since he is a whistleblower, not a spy.)
He turned over the data to responsible journalists to make sure it was vetted properly and the public could be safely informed without jeopardizing national security.
He's a patriot and a hero. The fact that he is still living in Russia and being treated like a criminal by the U.S. government, instead of receiving a medal in the USA, is a strong indictment of our government and clear evidence of our ongoing loss of freedom.
hahahahahahahaha
Since Bitcoin is another form of cash, it becomes an exchange of one form of cash for another. There is no future risk of the transaction being reversed due to fraud.
The "regulatory uncertainty" line is the same cop-out used by banks regarding Bitcoin-related businesses. Do we now, in America, assume that something is illegal until the government explicitly tells us it's legal?
Do they ever do anything else?
