Shadow-banned and proud, go fuck yourselves, cowards.
Home-office, cafes, parks and libraries have been my offices of choice as a remote worker for the past decade.
I wondered if it was an old colleague of mine with a 15+ year reputation for ghosting employers when he was burned out, so I asked, and of course it was.
I usually leave on good enough terms to have a conversation with my boss, but I ghosted an incredibly abusive employer once, and it felt pretty good.
Cash Rules Everything Around Me -- Wu-Tang.
This is a false equivalency and a weak argument, where you are suggesting that all muslims are both terrorists and anti-semites.
A "terrorist" shot up a gay night club, and yes, we do ban terrorist propaganda from the public square, or are you advocating for allowing ISIS/Taliban/Al Qaeda, etc, to be allowed to preach their hatred and drum-up support?
Especially if you're young, just having your hands in your pockets will get a store clerk following you around. My parents even taught me as a child to never put your hands in your pockets when in a store.
What really made a lasting impression on me was their loss-prevention training me was that not everybody is strong enough to carry an item, a bag, or push a cart while shopping. When seeing somebody place an item in their pocket/purse/bag we would offer to carry it for them or hold it at the front-desk.
This enabled a compassionate the benefit of the doubt to a clientele base who were often too frail from HIV-related illnesses to hold the item in their hands and offered a gracious, de-escalated escape route for would-be thieves.
I was the "only" sysadmin when I was at Napster (We had 2 people in desktop support/it, one of whom actually died a few years later. The guy I replaced, Stephen Fountain, was actually shot to death by police). We hired 2 more a week or two before I left. It was a shit-show that I prefer to forget. (I'm also not at all proud of my work there. I was an unprofessional, somewhat incompetent 19 year-old workaholic who worked 100 hours a week and did a half-assed job at everything, which in the end actually was a huge net-negative to the organization, and myself!)
Turkey is a bird. The Turkish word for Turkey is Hindi (which is funny, because the Turkish word for India is Hindistan, -stan means country, so a literal translation of Hindistan is "Country of Turkey")
Türkiye is the Turkish spelling for the Republic of Turkey.
Logically you would think as these rich 20-somethings become rich 30-somethings they will start having children, but after 10 years they cannot afford SF either, so they also move away.
Sure, forcing out Google doesn't solve the problem, but it sends a very clear message: Profits are not more important than livable communities.
What do your tax dollars pay for in regards to Planned Parenthood? Things that Medicare should be paying for, but fails at, specifically, reproductive care for women, including obstetrics, which should go well with your pro-birth agenda (I'm not going to dignify it with the phrase "pro-life" because once the baby comes out, the "pro-lifers" seem to run for cover)
Meanwhile, when it comes to giving my tax dollars as welfare to your religion, your conservative agenda infringes upon my constitutional rights established under the 1st amendment to our constitution (in case of the USA).
By this logic, it's a cool business hack to run a megachurch and buy your own 737 without paying taxes, not a scam?
tl;dr: Christian organization scams tax payers, recent conservative trends on Hacker News somehow makes this interesting?
The average Türk, except for the very upper-class, would be very happy to end the influence of the Saudis in their country.
A side-effect of ending our persecution of Iran, however, is that Putin would likely start a war. If Iran were allowed to dump their vast natural gas supplies on the open market, Russia's economy would starve.
