every··on Automakers are starting to admit that drivers hate touchscreens
Driving itself is an analog activity. Turn a wheel. Press a pedal. Check a mirror. Glance at a gauge. Judge a distance. No place amongst all that for fiddling with a touch screen. Voice commands may be another matter, however...

every··on Getting around website paywalls with devtools alone
My lynx is always at the ready for paywalls and other annoyances. My guess is that showing up using such an archaic tool implies you might also be using a screen reader setting like blynx [1]. The more thoughtful sites will even give you a link to jump directly to content from the top...

every··on A runner who leads every pack and then vanishes
I rabbited in high school. We had an excellent state-level miler who could run all day but had zero finishing kick. My job was to set as fast a pace as I could for as long as I could to wear the opposing strong finishers down. I was usually good for a lap and a half or so. Not bad for a broad jumper...

every··on What the eff Is Gemini?
Lynx is the oldest web browser still under development. It is also arguably the best gopher browser. It is a standard utility available on a host of *nix and other platforms. I started using it 25 years ago as a DOS port...
every··on What the eff Is Gemini?
I abandoned gopher several years ago because I had to rely on proxy servers for access from the web. But at least lynx [1] supports the gopher protocol. Gemini requires either a niche browser or reliance on a proxy. No thanks...

every··on Kristall – a browser without support for CSS/JS/WASM or graphical websites
I have been using lynx for almost 3 decades. It is still my primary browser. All of my bookmarks are stored in lynx. When necessary, I can spawn my defined x-www-browser from inside lynx, as when typing this comment. The two together are quite functional...
