enomar··on Google Optimize: Google’s New A/B Testing Product
If you want to integrate GTM with your internal source control system, they have a programmatic API that you can tie into your build process:

https://developers.google.com/tag-manager/api/v1/

And if you want to lock down what kinds tags can run on your site, they have a nice whitelisting/blacklisting system that lets you block capabilities (e.g. customScripts to block arbitrary JS):

https://developers.google.com/tag-manager/devguide?hl=en#res...

enomar··on Google Tag Manager
Tagging is friction on Ad campaigns. Remove that friction and marketers can run more/better campaigns, thus spending more money with Google.
enomar··on Most popular browser missing (Chrome)...
How do you know that Chrome and Safari are supported? Is there some documentation of this? A list somewhere? If so, Facebook should at least link to that page from here.
enomar··on White House Petition: Congress to investigate Google
Didn't congress already do this?

enomar··on Ask HN: Cache Invalidation API in browsers?
I don't know how well this works in practice, but it appears HTTP clients can force a check with the origin server if needed:

http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616-sec13.html

"...request with a "Cache-Control: max-age=0" directive (see section 14.9), to force a check with the origin server."

enomar··on The last third-party Javascript snippet you'll ever need
Any other info? I'm interested, but the "Why We Think Uber JS Rocks" section isn't quite enough to convince me to pay $10 to peek behind the curtain.
enomar··on Google Acquisitions
That quote doesn't appear to be specific to this post. It's on every page of the blog. For example:

enomar··on Google's Eric Schmidt slams Apple iPhone lawsuits
"purchasing Android as a strategic response to the success of iOS"

Please don't make things up here. Google bought Android in 2005 [1]. The iPhone was announced in 2007 [2].

enomar··on Why I left Google. What happened to my book. What I work on at Facebook.
Those people help make the web possible, and the web is a beautiful, world changing thing. I hope it won't be this way forever, but right now ads are part of the web's infrastructure; they pay the bills.
enomar··on Ask HN: If you could change one thing on the Web, what would it be?
The document.cookie API has to be the worst API ever invented. I'd fix that and resolve the differences between JS and HTTP cookies.
enomar··on PageRank is an abomination (mathematically) -- discussion
Omitting "(mathematically)" from the title seems misleading.
enomar··on JQuery Usage Statistics
Google Analytics is a bit more impressive, especially if you look at the diff in the top 100k lines:

enomar··on Google changed the Chrome icon in the latest dev build
Definitely a good idea to change the icon. The old one looked like an evil robot eye. Not the best imagery for a company trying to convince everyone they aren't an evil robot...
enomar··on Facebook Hacker Cup Finals: A Champion is Crowned

enomar··on Preparing CS students for programming interviews from day one
Whenever a candidate can't get it on their own, I give progressively better hints until they come close. This helps you gauge how many hints they need in comparison to other candidates and it moves the process forward.

Then move onto a different topic or skill. No one is good at everything or experienced in all fields. Plenty of candidates will do poorly on one question and then nail the next.

enomar··on Preparing CS students for programming interviews from day one
"If we are to use a medical analogy, imagine interviewing an experienced surgeon...'What is a scalpel?...show how you'd cut in that case'...such a situation is unimaginable."

I don't think this analogy tells us anything (other than that's not how the medical field works). Why is this situation unimaginable? What exactly would be wrong with this approach?

I do a couple tech interviews a week and I regularly see people with very impressive resumes that can't code fizzbuzz. The job largely consists of writing software; I see no problem with requiring candidates to demonstrate that they can, in fact, write software. I don't want to work with people that think they're too good to demonstrate their skills.

enomar··on Google May Kill Chrome URL Bar
Pretty sensationalist headline. "Google exploring ways to increase screen space for content" would be more accurate, but I guess that doesn't get clicks.
enomar··on Combining and Compressing Disqus' and Google Analytics' JavaScript
"it turns out that the type attribute is optional"

It is optional for HTML5, but not for 4.01: http://www.w3.org/TR/html401/interact/scripts.html#adef-type...

enomar··on Combining and Compressing Disqus' and Google Analytics' JavaScript
"Both seem terse enough and are meant for inclusion in at the bottom of your web page."

That isn't true for Google Analytics. It's designed to be placed at the bottom of the head section: http://code.google.com/apis/analytics/docs/tracking/asyncTra...

enomar··on Eric Schmidt: On April 4th I Will Step Down, Larry Page to be CEO
It would have been very easy for Google to cave to criticism about Chrome OS and Android. Instead, they're letting things play out. Having used both, I think it's going to turn out to be a pretty smart bet. At the very least, you have to applaud that they're willing to take risks like this.
enomar··on First bug of 2011: iOS alarms not going off?
As long as humans are writing the code, there will be cut corners and missed test cases. The attitude the "this is easy" could have been the reason it happened in the first place.
enomar··on Under the hood of Google Maps 5.0 for Android
The new maps are simply amazing. The 3D building with pan and rotate make me feel like I live in the future.
enomar··on Big Brotheresque App Kills Your Automotive Anonymity
While, I don't really like that these "offenses" are stored permanently, I would like a way to anonymously notify a driver they're doing something wrong.

I can't stand smokers that throw their (sometimes still lit) butts out the window. It would be nice to have some way to vent other than road rage.

enomar··on Ask HN: Did anyone else get a Google Chrome Laptop yet?
According to the original announcement video stream, the CR-48 hardware is not the actual hardware. It's a test platform for beta testing the software.
enomar··on Nexus S Revealed: This is the Android Phone You've Been Waiting For
I thought the same thing when I moved from my G1 to my Nexus One. I don't miss the hardware keyboard at all actually.

enomar··on Google's new privacy policy. Will be in effect from October 3, 2010
Actually, these point at different URLs. The post you've linked to points to a diff of the policies which is much better:

http://www.google.com/intl/en/privacy_changes_2010.html

enomar··on Google's privacy policy changes happening in October
Gotta love that they provided a diff instead of just updating it and saying it's been updated.
