enomar··on What is the true street value of Marijuana?
I'd pay the premium to know that I'm not getting something laced with rat poison or PCP.
enomar··on Google Making Extraordinary Counteroffers To Stop Flow Of Employees To Facebook
The public includes parents, friends and members of the opposite sex. A lot of people confuse what others think of them with self worth.
enomar··on Ask HN: Nexus One or Droid/etc?
Personally, the Droids seem to be clunkier and of poorer quality. Plus you'll have to deal with whatever crap Verizon puts on it. The DroidX may have better specs, but I love my N1. It's a really solid phone.
enomar··on Google Launches Chrome-To-Phone Extension To Link Chrome With Android
I've tried this. It's extremely neat. Much better than emailing a URL to yourself.
enomar··on Google goes "evil"
Their motto is "Don't be evil": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dont_be_evil
enomar··on Ask HN: Why doesn't google give an alternative to select old google news?
This is a clear demonstration of one of the main drawbacks of webapps. If you don't like v2, there's nothing you can do about it except switch to a different product. You also can't wait for v2.1 for all the bugs get shaken out. You're at the mercy of the webapp developer.

This is probably fine for free, consumer apps, but if Google wants to get serious about enterprises using their software, they need to come up with a strategy for serving multiple versions at the same time.

enomar··on Teenagers and Poor Business Sense
When I was roughly 12, I was shoveling snow for my mom and she told me what it meant to have a strong work ethic. She said it was part of being Catholic. At the time, that was important to me, so the having a strong work ethic became part of what I wanted to be. It really stuck. It wasn't entrepreneurial; just about taking pride in doing things well.
enomar··on Google CEO Announces Zynga Partnership
Linkbait if I've ever seen it. No announcement was actually made.
enomar··on Modafinil
Melatonin and dim lights (no laptop, tv or cell phone) for about an hour works for me. Also, try waking up earlier. I used to have your problem, but now I regularly fall asleep in 10-15 minutes after going to bed.
enomar··on Intro to Google's open source JavaScript rich text / HTML editor
It is not a replacement for GWT. Closure is for people that want to write Javascript. GWT is for people that want to write Java.
enomar··on Woops, Google’s Street View cars collected email passwords, “sensitive data”
I suspect it's because various governments want it as evidence of some wrong doing.
enomar··on Opera 10.6 - HTML5, and then some
Opera is still the only browser that doesn't support any method of making a script load asynchronously. Firefox was the first browser to support the HTML5 async attribute for scripts.
enomar··on Simple Way to Extract GET Params from a JavaScript Script Tag
Sorry, can you explain what you mean?
enomar··on Simple Way to Extract GET Params from a JavaScript Script Tag
Right, but then you have to require that your script be loaded synchronously. And this is really just a hack to get around the fact that browsers don't provide a proper API.
enomar··on Simple Way to Extract GET Params from a JavaScript Script Tag
This solution fails when you need to insert the script more than once in a page. Instead, browsers really should provide scripts a means to retrieve the script element that they belong to.
enomar··on Invite someone to try Google Docs - without signing up
Nice! Needing an account was the biggest reason I stopped using Docs for phone screens.
enomar··on Google Code Blog: Chrome Extensions for Web Development
The resources tab in the developer tools is a good start. But I'd love to see the ability in the extensions API to inspect (and manipulate) the HTTP stream.
enomar··on Google to employees: 'Mac or Linux, but no more Windows'
From what I've heard, very few engineers were using Windows in the first place. This mostly affected sales people.
enomar··on Google Analytics opt-out browser extension
That still may break sites if the variables that ga.js defines are used outside of a try/catch.
enomar··on Google Analytics opt-out browser extension
Are you sure you weren't experiencing this bug? https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=487638
enomar··on Google Analytics opt-out browser extension
About 2-3% of people.

enomar··on Google Analytics opt-out browser extension
Doesn't that slow down and/or break a bunch of sites?
enomar··on Lazy Loading Asyncronous Javascript
IIRC, the setTimeout trick only works if window.onload executes before your timeout fires.
enomar··on Did Google Just Quietly Launch A Web-Based iTunes Competitor? Yep.
Selling mp3s may not be the point. This may just be a really great feature that helps sell phones. Certainly, iTunes integration is a major selling point for iPhones.
enomar··on IE9 will support VP8 and H.264 video
What are the implications of "when the user has installed a VP8 codec on Windows"? Does this mean users will have to install the codec for VP8 videos to be playable in IE? If so, that seems like a half-measure...
enomar··on Google bid to sell Nexus One online a failure
The word "failure" appears 0 times on this page. It's not in the title. It's not in the story. It's not even in the comments. Same goes for the word "fail".

What's with the agenda?

enomar··on HTML5 must not become the future of the web
You lost me at "Few people would argue that it (Javascript) is anything other than a half-baked toy language that does not scale well."
enomar··on Opera joins in Jobs v Flash argument
I had the same experience with their Android version. Tried it, but I don't see a reason to use it over the default browser (and yeah, the interface is a little odd).
enomar··on How Google Got its New Look
I've heard that on multiple occasions from Googlers.
enomar··on Open-source robotics firm Willow Garage gives away $4 million worth of robots
I love it. A PR (personal robot) revolution could have just as much impact (if not more) as the PC revolution.
