Still, I love the idea and actually want to find a reason to use it.
Regarding 3000 calories a day etc, I am purposefully eating the 1200 range to lose fat first, that's my first goal. I do HIIT 3 times a week, and cardio 3 times. 6 days total.
I am not trying to build muscle mass at this point. I will be soon, but for now I just need to drop the fat from years of sedentary computer jobs, and condition my heart and lungs. So far, I am very happy with the improvements. I don't know how this activity level would feel at 3000 calories, but at 1200 for the short term, I feel really good.
HTML = construction paper, safety scissors, and glue, while you wear a dirty scuba mask. CSS = A gluestick, glitter, and pipe cleaners, while you wear mittens.
I live in Silicon Valley, and I have an autistic 9 year old son. He resembles the former, not the latter.
Thank you for actually understanding the difference. I am glad someone gets it. The spectrum is largely diluted to the point of needing to be broken up into smaller spectrums. It pains me every time to explain what "low functioning" autism is, or "classic autism".
My son was told he couldn't really join a Bay Area Autistic Minecraft group because he was "too autistic" and it was really for high functioning autists or "Aspies."
Maybe I should just start saying "mentally disabled". Easier.
But really, I followed Font Awesomeas I figure Dave knows his shit (also check out blacktie https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/232193852/font-awesome-...)
I could make component pieces that have color CSS coded and stack, like a yellow sun on a white cloud that are positioned on top of one another, but that would be a massive undertaking I don't think I could commit to.
Granted, it's a thought piece on the abuse of "faster horses" myth that is often used to subtly circumvent user research and experience discussions.
But even today, like you say, no one says they want faster cars. I think today people might say they don't want a car at all, or a affordable Tesla, or if you go back 15 years, we thought it was a Segway.
The next big release will be integration with weather service API codes and other weather codes, and fixing some nuanced things like moon phases which are hard to conceive when you're in the depths of things.
As far as the nuanced subtle-differences, that's a hard one. When designing, a lot of the icons start to be so similar, or the same, they become multi use. Some user research I need to do is to see how many people would use "mostly sunny, partly sunny, slightly overcast" as 3 icons, or if 1 works. I am pretty restricted with the choice to use the single color, bold stroke icon style. Especially when they are meant to look good at 16-20px.
A "hairline" font weight is also planned.
