Yes. One would want to avoid false positives for the accurate evaluation of one's vocabulary.

Off-topic but very important: The widespread misuse of the word 'dependency' is very very icky, linguistically speaking. This word originally meant: 'in a state of being dependent'. Usage: "Ronny hated his dependency on the kindness of strangers.". But it's being used to refer to the 'dependent', as well as the 'dependee', which is very poor form:

Apart from the humanitarian catastrophe, does anyone else feel vexed, at the enormous resources and man-hours lost because of the bombing campaigns in conflicts? One could argue, that efforts towards achieving inter-national harmony is also vital in reducing humanity's carbon footprint.

dopkew··on Calculus Made Easy (1910)
And in chapter 2:

>Now if, for such a purpose, we regard 1/1,000,000 (or one millionth) as a small quantity, then 1/1,000,000 of 1/1,000,000, that is 1/1,000,000,000,000 (or one billionth) ..

1/1,000,000,000,000 is actually one trillionth

dopkew··on Calculus Made Easy (1910)
In chapter 2:

> Let us think of x as a quantity that can grow by a small amount so as to become x+dx, where dx is the small increment added by growth. The square of this is x2+2x⋅dx+(dx)^2. The second term is not negligible because it is a first-order quantity; while the third term is of the second order of smallness, being a bit of, a bit of x^2.

It seems to me that the third term is actually a bit of a bit of x, rather than of x^2.

dopkew··on Antibiotic resistance now 'global threat', WHO warns
I saw a documentary in which it was said that another disincentive to antibiotic research is that its very use causes its effectiveness (for the general population) to reduce, due to antibiotic resistance. So that it would eventually stop selling.

It is not so in the case of medicines for BP, diabetes etc.

We may eventually need to have a compulsory hospital stay (or something else) for antibiotic treatment so that a patient treated with an antibiotic does not have any leftover resistant pathogens to transfer to the public.

When local governments didn't have such capabilities, most people ignored these regulations because those had a practically insignificant effect on their lives. But when the local governments get this capability, all those ignored regulations will suddenly become significant. And also, all new subsequent regulations will have strong public focus.

While people ignore regulations which have very little practical harm in being ignored, they also ignore some which later turn out to be very harmful. See near the end of: http://dohanews.co/post/53425474389/five-villaggio-trial-def...
