Wild watching the op-ed against Ilya unfold.
ditsuke··on If needed, you have a role at Microsoft that matches your compensation
Doesn't the UK have a general skilled-worker visa?
ditsuke··on Kagi finally let me lay Google Search to rest
I think you're missing the point: a price barrier regardless how big is good.
ditsuke··on Maybe Rust isn’t a good tool for massively concurrent, userspace software
The rust guys are working on this very problem with the keyword generics proposal https://blog.rust-lang.org/inside-rust/2022/07/27/keyword-ge...
ditsuke··on Using LD_PRELOAD to cheat, inject features and investigate programs
Wow, that sounds like a fun place to work at!
ditsuke··on The Tao of Go
Only if it came with code to justify the Go in the title.
ditsuke··on Git Blame-Someone-Else
That could've been possible if Git didn't use commit metadata hashes, (un)fortunately it's smart enough to do that.
ditsuke··on Grug Notes, A tool for text: simple, fast, self-organizing notes
Concerns aside, automatic structured data is an exciting idea (and one I've been wanting in my workflow). Looking forward to seeing how it turns out!
ditsuke··on Grug Notes, A tool for text: simple, fast, self-organizing notes
Always excited to have more options in the PKM space. I have a couple questions — have you tried Obsidian.md? And what does grugnotes plan to use OpenAI for (besides as a development aid)
ditsuke··on Pull request merge queue (public beta)
So, mergify built in?
ditsuke··on Ask HN: A Better Docker Compose?
This might end up being my gateway to learning and using k8s. Thank you!
ditsuke··on Tell HN: The ThinkPad X1 Carbon is an excellent MacBook replacement
> - trackpad - your two sentences are very vague. Can you navigate with two fingers in a web browser? How is text selection? Or selecting a sentence out of a long paragraph, etc? In my experience nothing matches Apple in terms of precision and accuracy, but maybe Lenovo finally caught up recently.

I use the LG Gram 2022. The trackpad is nothing short of Amazing on Linux -- everything you expect works 2/3/4 finger gestures, panning; the scrolling however can use some tuning on Gnome.

ditsuke··on Nixpacks takes a source directory and produces an OCI compliant image
Small world indeed!
ditsuke··on GoodbyeDPI: Deep Packet Inspection circumvention utility
It's widely employed by Russian and Indian ISPs to censor access to websites. I've had a largely successful run with GoodbyeDPI 's circumvention.
ditsuke··on Is social audio already dead?
Not very online enough. But really, i think it's more about your online influence sphere. I've been on the intersection and seen a side where it's big, the other where it's not even felt.
ditsuke··on Ask HN: What's your greatest enjoyment in life?
Good food and anime.
ditsuke··on Fly.io: The reclaimer of Heroku's magic
Sorry I couldn't find a reference, what is dogwood?
ditsuke··on FormKit: Form building framework for Vue 3
What would you know, today I learned
ditsuke··on Ask HN: Why isn't there a Google competitor emerging?
DDG uses Bing (like most other alternative search engines). I believe Brave's new search engine uses its own index though.
ditsuke··on Process Scheduling in Linux (2021)
Paywalled.
ditsuke··on Actually Using Ed (2012)
Thanks, luckily caught this while I could still edit!
