devonnull··on Hearing bad grammar results in physical signs of stress, new study reveals
I'm sure some mischievous scamp is working on a way to automatically troll people using that.
devonnull··on Ultra simple back end for static websites
The title definitely should be prefixed Show HN.
devonnull··on Ask HN: Can Kagi make sure Reddit pages load?
Nope. Using LibreWolf.

As another poster pointed out, maybe you should contact the people at Kagi about this.

devonnull··on Ask HN: Can Kagi make sure Reddit pages load?
Haven't seen that behavior. Just clicked a link to a reddit post and loaded the article, comments included.

Are you sure this is a Kagi thing? Maybe it's a reddit or browser thing. Or some weird combo of all of that.

devonnull··on Ask HN: Can Kagi make sure Reddit pages load?
What do you mean by this, exactly? The title is unclear.
devonnull··on Why isn't Gnudb.org database free to download?
Unless the people behind Gnudb are active here (and actually have read this post), I'm not sure you'll get an answer. I'd say try getting in touch with them, but there's no contact information on the website.
devonnull··on Tell HN: ChatGPT Seems to Be Down
Maybe it just needs a short break ...
devonnull··on FTX: 'King of Crypto' to testify in fraud case
I don't expect this to end well ...
devonnull··on Tell HN: My Reddit account got suspended because I used different browsers
It's easier to blame Reddit (or any service) than it is to take accountability for one's actions.
devonnull··on What we know about aliens so far

devonnull··on Ask HN: Why no posts about the elephant in the room?
If you're going to post something like this, at least mention what said elephant is. It might not be as obvious to others as it is to you. And that current so-called elephant in the room might be different depending on where you live.

That said, I wouldn't mind seeing more discussion about:

devonnull··on You Can Pilot Your Own Transformable Mecha Suit for a Cool $3M
It just might fit into my garage, too ...

But I wonder how much it costs to maintain this mecha. Doubt I can do it with the tools that I have lying around.

devonnull··on Meta’s smart glasses can take calls, play music, and livestream from your face
Sounds like Google Glass, part 2.
devonnull··on Monk Mail: An email app for hermits
But do hermits have email addresses? Or smartphones?
devonnull··on A genetic study has revised the narrative about how wine grapes spread
You're not the only one who did ...
devonnull··on Pumpkin Beer Doesn't Suck
Just because someone doesn't like something doesn't mean that something sucks. I've tried pumpkin beer and it's not my thing. But I know some people who go gaga over it. To each their own ...
devonnull··on Domain Name Price Increase – October 4, 2023
The link in this post and https://porkbun.com/blog/ are both 404ing at the moment. Maybe Porkbun will fix it soon.
devonnull··on Opensource.net
The link should be https://opensource.net. Accidentally added a q to the end of the URL. Can anyone fix this? Thanks!
devonnull··on Opensource.net
The new home for the former Opensource.com news site.
devonnull··on Finish Things
And sometimes what you start collapses under the weight of a lot of factors, or it becomes apparent that it's a dead end part way through the process.
devonnull··on Focalboard
An open source kanban board, with web and desktop versions
devonnull··on The IRS plans to crack down on 1,600 Millionaires to collect back taxes
The question is will the crackdown be successful? Or will the millionaires' lawyers, etc. stymie those new “compliance efforts”?

This is definitely worth watching.

devonnull··on Command-Line only Laptop
I vaguely remember someone doing something along these lines about 10 or 15 years ago. Kind of a 30 days living in the Linux terminal kind of experiment. It does show that you can be productive in the terminal (assuming you want to give it a try).
devonnull··on [dead]
This post is a bit meta, isn't it?
devonnull··on As Smartphone Industry Sputters, the iPhone Expands Its Dominance
I guess that kid isn't getting an iPhone :-)
devonnull··on The Linux Information Project
Ah, I miss the days of dial up internet (not just on Linux) ... :-)
devonnull··on Vitalik Buterin's Twitter account hacked to promote crypto scam
At least it was a tweet related to Ethereum. Probably why it lasted as long as it did.
devonnull··on Searching for “notepad” on DuckDuckGo yields zero results
Unless you type in something like Windows Notepad or paper notepad, which does return results.

Strange, very strange.

devonnull··on Capacities
No, I did not. If I had, my description would have been a lot more glowing and market-y :-)
devonnull··on Capacities
The latest in the PKM tool sweepstakes. Not sure how Capacities is all that different from Notion or Mem or Craft or any of them, but someone thought that crowded space needed another entry.
