We’re perfectly capable of making robots that move much faster, they’d just be batshit dangerous, bulky, and expensive. No ones ever wanted them, because of the risk of harming anyone who comes near it during development, let alone deployment. Even a few meters per second with those metal parts and hard edges is deadly.
