dblacc··on LG smart TVs caught logging audio with screen off and snooping on local devices
security updates ?
dblacc··on Chat Control Is Back on the Menu in the EU. It Still Must Be Stopped
has it ?
dblacc··on On Small Games
I spent >5years solo building a game that you can probably complete within an hour. Based on the reviews though, 95% of people still really enjoy it, which was a relief. It also feels very validating to read the opinions in here.

dblacc··on Is-Vegan – Helps you to find out which food ingredients are vegan
oh sweet
dblacc··on Is-Vegan – Helps you to find out which food ingredients are vegan
Wondering how hard it would be to build something that takes a picture of ingredients on a food label for text recognition, which feeds into this... or something like this
dblacc··on Solu - Social Computer
Is this proposing a spotify like royalty payment to software developers on the platform too then ? Seems like a bad idea.
dblacc··on Google Has a Secret Interview Process and It Landed Me a Job
All that work just to skip a telephone interview ey. I suppose it was for fun initially anyway.
dblacc··on Show HN: Instafall – Organize your Instagram feeds
Cool, We did something very similar for a hackday not that long ago. http://picdeck.co

dblacc··on Workflow for iOS
Not.. sure.. if.. trolling.. or.. not..
dblacc··on TestFlight Beta Testing
Yeah I think it was apparent that was the plan when they acquired them. It just took them soo long to get it integrated. Using testflight as it was, was good but it was a little painful. This in comparison should be a lot more simplified and smooth.
dblacc··on Your friends are lying to you. For $10, I wont.
>Nope, not a joke.

no need..

dblacc··on “Giganews is an FBI Operation”
The first line says "these allegations are 100% false" though
dblacc··on How Memorizing “$19.05” Can Help You Outsmart the MTA
In the situation you are travelling with a kid who is eligible for free travel, rather than going through the barriers you should've just spoken to the the person on duty. Theres always at least 1 person standing by one of the barriers that would let you through.. takes like 5 seconds longer but doesn't involved getting munched :)
dblacc··on Why a Dead Alkaline Battery Bounces [video]
What would the inside of a recharged battery look like I wonder.
dblacc··on From the startup who allegedly stole software and raised $2M with it
>I'm sorry but I fail to see what this post is for. You made a post complaining about someone else's post (of which should not have been made in the first place) trying too win over people of whom have no opinion on the matter?

weeeeell, if he's the founder, he does have a right to defend his companies reputation (that said, i don't agree with the way he's handled it).

dblacc··on Show HN: A virtual whiteboard for working or teaching remotely
This is fantastic. How long is a whiteboards lifetime ?
dblacc··on Show HN: A virtual whiteboard for working or teaching remotely
Text is also a feature I'd like to see. Sometimes its easier to just type something than gesture each letter
dblacc··on Top 10 One-person Startups
Im not a founder so my knowledge is somewhat limited, but from what I see around me most of the known or more 'successful' startups tend to have at least 2 founders. There must be some reason/correlation behind that right ?
dblacc··on Top 10 One-person Startups
I'll accept that point but I still don't think its the same. My thinking is that these companies pretty much grew with the internet, which played a pretty big role in their success and I just don't see the internet growing in that same fashion today.

That said, the way we use the internet today is changing which is why I don't think its exactly impossible but would question how difficult it would be in comparison to 20years ago.

dblacc··on Top 10 One-person Startups
The top 2 (Amazon & Ebay) where founded in almost a different internet age. It makes wonder if a solo founder could create such a large company today.
dblacc··on Top 10 One-person Startups
I believe its ranked by valuation and/or users/subscribers
dblacc··on Dear Instagram
>Unfortunately, the days of naming products desirable things like "bolt," and being able to defend them, legally or not, are over.

I have a feeling the guys at King disagree with you.

dblacc··on Show HN: InstaLove – Tinder on Autopilot
It sounds like a neat problem to work on. I imagine a few awkward situations where the algo has "slightly" miscalculated though.
dblacc··on Show HN: InstaLove – Tinder on Autopilot
Perhaps I've misunderstood and just mistaken but is the auto-swiping random ? As in, Will it swipe yes or no randomly to people ?
dblacc··on Show HN: Twilert – Emails in real time when your brand is mentioned on Twitter
Its probably the firehose via one of the two data providers, is why the service isn't free. Datasift is one of said providers, can't remember the name of the other.
dblacc··on Ask HN: Did you start a company whilst employed?
Do you know of any other way around this, other than going to your employer explicitly ?
dblacc··on CityMapper – Point to Point City Directions
I believe they power themselves using open sourced data like that from Transport For London. I think they also plug into some other apis for things like cycling routes.
dblacc··on Swarm: Foursquare's ambitious plan to split its app in two
but by the sounds of it you'll still be able to do exactly that with 4sq.

It doesn't look like any functionality is being lost from the standalone 4sq app as it is now, just separated because people aren't using them together anyway.

dblacc··on Why not to use infinite scroll on your website
infinite scrolling works for things like Facebook, Twitter or any other case when you probably don't want the user to be alarmed by the amount of time they've spent on a site..

If i saw 'page 11' on Facebook, i'd instantly think about all the time i just wasted and try and be sure i didn't so that again.

dblacc··on The Myth of the Science and Engineering Shortage
I thought the whole shortage for demand argument was to do with the lack of talent that was being produced, rather than simply the number of people who had a bachelors degree.
