dana-s··on Cops Can Bypass iPhone's Automatic Reboot to Get into Locked Phones
I believe the parent comment is talking about leaving US, coming back to the US and then having US's border patrol do so. If that is also what you understood, are you an activist or anyone whom would be of interest to the feds to be asked so? Otherwise saying "I've never been asked" sounds like a common thing for most people.
dana-s··on I don't want to read what you didn't write
It's now a CAPTCHA to tell humans apart from bots based on how you write.
dana-s··on We Write Code by Hand
"build the future" meaning build a very specific form of future, which not everyone would rather be part of.
dana-s··on Dario, Please
Yeah, just like how having regulations for mining companies and dams, if one of them fails and destroys the environment? Progress!
dana-s··on My Feed, My Way
I don't see much issue with FLINTA spaces, other than it still failing at the ye old question "how to easily filter bad people from people". The options for regular spaces are still HUGE, some people deciding to have FLINTA and apparently enjoying themselves is a plus.
dana-s··on The turbulent AI era is here
That last piece of data is one that frightened me when visiting a museum there. There's a lot of horrible things that may still as well be ongoing for all I know.
dana-s··on How Europe is killing makers and micro-entrepreneurs
Is a package branded if it has a sticker on it? Is it branded if it's got a print on the outside? If it has a tape that has the brand on it? Because all these cases have happened to smaller shops I buy from.

One has a tape on regular boxes that is branded

Other has stickers on the packages to identify it

And one has a small branded plastic packaging.

I doubt any of them is bringing home more than 500k EUR in revenues per year(giving a very safe margin there)

dana-s··on Why aren't smart people happier? (2022)
I've seen how low the bar is within my family, it can go lower than the bar I've personally seen, it scares me.
dana-s··on Anti-AI fonts are useless and harmful
I believe the cat and rat game is already there, for multiple places, spam, captchas and now for AI content, yes, it's objective is to make it harder for AI companies to get such data, if it wastes their time, it's a win.
dana-s··on Israel creates fake think tank in likely attempt to dupe AI chatbots
And you still did not answer the question posed in the first place, "omnipotent" is completely deflecting any possibility of that happening, when the issue happened over a holiday, time that is prime for issues, take for example, Christmas markets attacks on Germany. While yes, it's speculation "today", I've asked in the main question.

I don't believe this is victim blaming, it's clear that what hamas did is unforgivable, my previous post states so, then again, you'd not be a good parent if you let your child go to Epstein island knowing what will happen to it, yes, the victims are still victims, same as the Christmas market but the government is failing it's population, when it otherwise is capable of taking measures for it.

This all said, I'll stop engaging with you as I've had enough to debate against a "throw" account.

dana-s··on Israel creates fake think tank in likely attempt to dupe AI chatbots
And when we both get a bit older, it may come to light that a state leader let this happen, hopefully history will show reality for what it was.

Still, that doesn't absolve Hamas from any actions done, they are terrorists at it's core and the worst type, they are willing to use civilians(and babies) to further their agenda, I don't condone them and personally and think the world would be a better place without them(as any other extremist)

dana-s··on Israel creates fake think tank in likely attempt to dupe AI chatbots
Explain to me like I'm 5, how a nation capable of such propaganda to install bombs in communication devices, hacked to be bought by leaders of terrorist organizations, capable of bombing the leader of Iran did NOT know about this attack? And if they did know, didn't do anything to prepare for it?
dana-s··on Text AI watermarks will always be trivial to remove
Because the best product should still take care of some social accountability, Meta would not sell their shitty glasses without the light indicator and even with it, as it's trivial to hack there's large social pushback.
dana-s··on Deutsche Bank becomes first foreign yuan clearing bank in Europe
The USA is also currently signalling hostilities towards Brazil. They're hostile to all.
dana-s··on More than 10 firms pay up to $100k a month for access to Truth Social posts
I'm also not the most smart there but there's this market thing of "futures", where I can say I'll buy 10 barrels for 10$ next month, then I can sell the "10 barrels for 10$" to others, if I know offer will be lower due wars, one can buy now and sell once it's lower, if it's going to have higher availability(or expectation of so), then there's those future things.
dana-s··on Never Enough
the resting points are disappearing and so are humans, if we look at the natality rates.
dana-s··on How proprietary formats have become Microsoft’s main tool for lock-in
A second or third time?
dana-s··on Grok 4.5
I believe it's from the reported usage of it to undress children(making realistic images that are pretty much CSAM or CSAM-like), which was allowed in the public version of grok and seen in twitter, now it's behind grok pro but still able to generate such. That's from memory so some aspects may be wrong.
dana-s··on Grok 4.5
Nope, the claim is that "harm to children" is a political topic. One that is used by all political parties.
dana-s··on Grok 4.5
Erm, isn't the whole topic of "protect the kids" pretty much a political thing? As could be interpreted of a platform or app or whatever you wanna call generating CSAM?
dana-s··on The Age of Reading Is Over
Or even just setting up a timer, I've set up a 20 min timer for myself recently, once it's done I do stick to it, I did get to do some things I've been pushing away, I still get some value out of these but... I get a lot more by not spending an hour on them.
dana-s··on What we call "age verification" is actually mass surveillance
I'm just left wondering, how would that be different than buying a phone? Most kids also don't have money to spend on devices, that's all coming from adults, how would the UUID work any different? In my view it seems we'll just reach the current state as with phones.
dana-s··on How to earn a billion dollars
The idea of capping wealth is to cap power imbalance, without power imbalance many things would not be able to happen within a system, alas there are as you say many potential side effects, implementations of how a cap could work would have to be discussed by society, right now I do feel people are very mad about inequality as is, what solutions are there for it?
dana-s··on US holds off blacklisting DeepSeek, more than 100 firms deemed security risks
Talking with an American trying to sell me on "don`t use deepseek because of moral reasons" really made me much more invested in China.
dana-s··on How to earn a billion dollars
If there's no cap on a ceiling, is it fair or humanly okay when someone's wealth is Epstein-enough to own other people's lives? Wealth is a proxy for power, when someone has more power than legal systems or enough to swindle all of it, is that a better world?

There should be a ceiling or we reach the current state where accountability is nothing a million dollars can't buy.

dana-s··on War Crimes Seem to Be Official US Policy Now
You were correct, it got flagged. Personally I held the belief that people shat too much on the USA, then the current regime started and I feel a fool.
dana-s··on Vibe coding my way to a healthy family: Introducing Gamow Labs
> In my country > Your depiction of a person with downs is not representative of the majority.

It may be for a different country, both experiences are valid to hear. In my country as far as I know it doesn't happen like yours.

dana-s··on Singapore introduces caning for boys who bully others at school
Well, one of my formative memories while being a child at school contributes to it, I was once saying some mean thing to another child because of other kids, that child slapped my face back quite good, I don't remember what I was saying, just that it was mean and that the slap made me question "why was I being mean for no reason?", an epiphany which helped me greatly.

On the other side of things, I do remember having suffered some forms of violence from parents and those really did not contribute to anything than showing me why they were bad parents.

dana-s··on US Department of Justice has officially reclassified cannabis as less dangerous
And gambling is such a prevalent thing in my home country(brazil) that it pisses me off, my mobile phone provider sends me gambling adverts whenever I top up with some prepaid value. In Germany I also see tons of sport betting places, there's almost more than bakeries.
dana-s··on Online age-verification tools for child safety are surveilling adults
There was some proposal from California or something to require OSs to enforce age verification, it was discussed in some other thread.
