cushpush··on Ask HN: How does my school block DoH?
Yeah, people were shocked when my service allows people to login with any email, but after a while, you need to certify you are the owner by clicking a link only that e-mail can get. What's not to love.
cushpush··on Steve Ballmer's incorrect binary search interview question
Nice, you played the game and you earned $0.20 [twenty cents]. Definitely a bad choice. But then you got viral on HN, and made good on your investment.

cushpush··on Why Do 70% of Families Lose Their Wealth in the 2nd Generation? (2018)
Another aspect: savings and investment habits. If you are born rich and have savings and investment habits that are good, you will remain rich. Savings and Investment habits are a large determinant. The article suggests that the prior generations' "worry about entitled behavior" is the second dominant cause, while financial illiteracy trailing behind at third (in order of presentation). But I find that quite misleading. Are the wealthy really wanting to put their offspring at a disadvantage because it is perceived as laziness? That's "patently false" as my friend says.
cushpush··on Ask HN: Do you get offended when someone outside your area suggests an idea?
Unhindered by the cage I made for myself, would you tell me how it looks?
cushpush··on Is the nervous system a democracy? (2016)
Hmm, you bring up an interesting point. Contradiction and proof by it are very powerful (proof by induction or contradiction being the two from classical logic). IF we consider that fully centralized (100% centralized) or fully decentralized (evenly spread, even density) are the extremes then maybe we have an idea, and maybe the real terrain is somewhere in the middle, but now we're talking spring mechanics of decision making and rarefaction and compression of decisions. Maybe something closer to how expressivity behaves.

as CharlieDigital said, a paper notebook. would recommend art store quality large and wide sheets and a handful of pens. depending on work, you can get different colors of pen. the very fine archival widths are great but easily bend outta shape. ideation and project development has phases, you must uncover and scope, and then implement. this oscillation of tides is natural and ensures healthy progress. for here, once the app is adequately scoped it's time to implemenr. but pretty much everything is designed on paper first

Usually you need some sort of "token" that lets you practically operate within a browser session. It seems like this is about tokens they had to revoke, which is kinda like a password but not.

Geoffrey Hinton says the term "confabulate" is more apt to describe the mutex/mutating memory recall operation of the brain as it summons "known facts" and "gets them wrong." confabulation is a feature, not a bug, of the brain, and also a feature, not a bug. If the goal is to reach brainlike computing, we are getting closer.

cushpush··on Ask HN: What is your ChatGPT customization prompt?
When a new version is released, I ask the version what its goals are for the prompt. I learned that GPT4 wanted to be "creative" and "helpful" in equal measure for "user discovery" which I told it to stop doing and the results got better. You have to battle the initial prompt away with your own, and it's easier if you ask it questions about its motivation/prompt, first. If you have the primo sub you can make your own GPTs and you can preload them with 20 files and 8000 characters of pre-prompt to battle the company-issued prompt ;) Mainly the files are what lets me do things on which the other GPT faulters.
