cspags··on The rise of the one-person unicorn
https://www.outseta.com/ is the best tool I've seen that offers everything you listed.
cspags··on Waymo raises first external investment round
Is this a widespread issue or only certain car models? I’ve been very interested in purchasing a Comma. Thanks!
cspags··on Ask HN: What's your favorite corporate power move?
Being the only remote employee when the rest of the company is onsite.
cspags··on The Most Dangerous Writing App
https://blurt.app is awesome.

It doesn't delete your text, it just blurs it as you're writing. So like you said, you can get everything out on the page without self-editing.

I use it to write all of my blog posts and then export them to markdown when I'm finished and ready to publish on my static site.

cspags··on How annoying is too annoying?
Glad to know I'm not the only one experiencing this! VSCode+Vim has been driving me insane lately with the excruciating typing lag.

I've never learned vim proper (started with Atom and vim-mode-plus), but I keep thinking it might be time to dive in.

cspags··on WeWork Files for IPO
For the last few months, I've used https://www.getcroissant.com/ which is ClassPass for co-working spaces. I like being able to bounce around different spaces, as well as use it in cities all over the world.
cspags··on Why almost everyone was wrong about Tesla’s cash flow situation
FWIW, I bought a 2004 Corolla with 140k miles off Craigslist in a HCOL city for $3,200 back in June. No issues so far.
cspags··on Valley Forged: How One Man Made the Indie Video Game Sensation Stardew Valley
Another one-person project, still under development http://www.itlurksbelow.com/. Granted this one person is David Brevik, of Diablo fame :)
cspags··on Blue Origin successfully lands both booster and crew capsule after test launch
Interesting that they stated a passenger would have experienced a peak of 10 Gs, that seems excessively high for tourism. The space shuttle launches were around 3 Gs and Soyuz rockets around 4 Gs.

cspags··on Scooter startup Bird is seeking a $2B valuation
Human behavior maybe? I know it's almost no effort to install a new app, but Ofo and Lime were the first rideshare bikes in my town and since there are plenty of their bikes around I haven't bothered to install any of their newer competitors' apps.
cspags··on Wells Fargo Hit with $1B in Fines
I highly recommend checking out https://www.youneedabudget.com for the ability to do this and more. (No affiliation, just a very satisfied customer)
cspags··on Stripe Home
It looks like the Dashboard front-end is using React, and on the back-end they use Ruby. https://stripe.com/blog/engineering
cspags··on Bird has raised $100M for electric scooter sharing
A lot of skepticism here regarding profitability, safety, and regulation. I can’t remember the last product I’ve seen gain traction so insanely fast as these scooters have in LA/SD. Between that and the bike companies (LimeBike, ofo, etc) it feels like when Uber/Lyft first came out, ie this is how urban transportation should be.
cspags··on Days Since a Cryptocurrency Exchange Has Lost More Than $100M
While you may be right, I think this could just be a classic example of Hanlon's razor.
cspags··on The Strange Brands in Your Instagram Feed
As a backend dev that knows almost nothing about this, I thought the article was a pretty good intro into the world of content marketing, dropshipping, and Facebook/Instagram advertising.
cspags··on Confidential metrics for Snapchat features
I find myself sending pictures and videos in chat all the time, simply because of the ease of it. Say I'm cooking dinner and a friend asks me, "what are you up to?". It's just as easy for me to send a quick video of the skillet sizzling on the stove, as it would be to type out a descriptive response.
cspags··on France to ban mobile phones in primary, junior and middle schools
It may not hurt their studies, but perhaps their social skills. I recently stayed at a hostel, and when I first walked in I noticed how in the common area almost every single person was alone on their phone. It made me long for the pre-smartphone days in which I imagine travelers were forced to socialize with each other.

While school lunch is a slightly different situation, I think it still applies that without phones kids will be forced to communicate more directly with each other.

cspags··on Show HN: Themes based on the biggest startups
Airbnb theme: http://www.waysily.com/
cspags··on Astronomers may soon have the first picture of a black hole
"The telescope zeroed in on two supermassive black holes: a beast as massive as four million suns". It's incredible thinking about how tiny and insignificant our planet is compared to the rest of the cosmos.
cspags··on Snap Jumps in Debut After App Maker Raises $3.4B in IPO
I've wondered this as well, but my guess is that they'll go the Youtube route and make the ads less and less skippable over time.
cspags··on SpaceX to Send Privately Crewed Dragon Spacecraft Beyond the Moon Next Year
Probably not them, but it made me think of these two... https://story.californiasunday.com/mars-madness
cspags··on Valuing time over money is associated with greater happiness
Here's one good article I've read on achieving economic freedom: http://www.mrmoneymustache.com/2012/01/13/the-shockingly-sim...
cspags··on Ask HN: What is the opposite of Y Combinator?
You could try signing up at https://www.cofounderslab.com/. I've had a number of people reach out to me who are looking to partner with a developer.
cspags··on Ask HN: Flow chart application for Mac?
Not specifically for Mac, but I've used the free plan for this Chrome app and it works quite well: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/lucidchart-diagram...
cspags··on Elon Musk’s Space Dream Almost Killed Tesla
Here's the video of the first Falcon 1 launch that reaches orbit. The series of cheers at each milestone, as the article mentions, is pretty awesome. https://youtu.be/8FQhtMrUQlE?t=18m34s
