cosmin800··on Luce: First Electric Ferrari
What a joke of a car, the "screens" are contagious. Peak design stupidity arrived at Ferarri, does it have the sliding on the screen gear stick too? Retractable door handles? I guess the price of old cars will grow faster than they used it.
cosmin800··on Tell HN: DigitalOcean's managed services broke each other after update

Well, that was pretty obvious that the portability is gone, especially when you start linking into systemd, even on the host system you have to link with the shared libs into systemd, you cannot link statically.
cosmin800··on Gnome is better macOS than macOS
I never knew what happened to gnome that it got so bad, until I used a Mac and I realized that they just tried to copy it and miserably failed.
cosmin800··on Replacing a $3000/mo Heroku bill with a $55/mo server
It is hilarious, don't get me wrong - I really appreciate more people moving away from these "Hi-Tech" deployment styles and cloud services and the rest, but it is like rediscovering hot water.
cosmin800··on Eliminating contrails from flying could be cheap
Ah, yes, the solution is to pay someone to do something . An extra 3.50 euro pet flight/passenger to avoid extra contrails, genius money making machine.
cosmin800··on High-fat diet impairs memory by autophagic-lysosomal dysfunction in Drosophila
I was expecting a mouse at least. Aren't these insects supposed to be feeding on fruits? Why feed them ribeyes?

Some pointed to already, but hosting anything at google is not the way forward.
cosmin800··on How CrowdStrike Stopped Everything
Not everything, there are companies that do not own, or use any single windows machine for this exact reason waiting to happen. Was this worse than msblaster or? I remember that, painful.
cosmin800··on Sonny Piers was removed from the GNOME Foundation board
Nothing else than taking some peasants and giving them a bodyguard uniform and now they feel more entitled than the building landord himself.
cosmin800··on Sonny Piers was removed from the GNOME Foundation board
Gnome is kind of junk nowdays, right? Haven't used since slack 7.
cosmin800··on Bird Flu Is Spreading. Why Aren't More People Getting Tested?
Alright!!! Let the money flow.
cosmin800··on Fats from thin air: Startup makes butter using CO2 and water
Man made horrors beyond comprehension. Leaded gasoline, asbestos, transfats, seed oils, sugar, hfcs, tobbacco, alcohol - all good in moderation.
cosmin800··on New cars to be fitted with automatic speed limiters across Europe from this week

Don't bother reading.

cosmin800··on Elon Musk Has a Giant Charity. Its Money Stays Close to Home
How is this news? Foundation setup is one the abcs of rich people. Every rich person has one or more. Seems just a lame attack to mr. Musk.
cosmin800··on FDA stands against using smartwatches to monitor blood glucose
Going to buy more Eli Lily stock, that thing will never go down this way.

Keeping people from seeing their real-time blood glucose levels is just a move to keep them from becoming aware of how bad their sugary foods are and their pre-diabetic health.

Fructose is way worse than glucose.

I don't understand the obsession with imessage, what is so special about it?
cosmin800··on How to defend your website with ZIP bombs (2017)
Not sure it works for the scanners, sure it crashes the browsers, but I would guess most scanners use libcurl which has a callback function for saving data and would give up on loading the resource if over 2MiB let's say.
