One notable exception is Cloudflare: They famously no longer rely solely on LetsEncrypt.
I dismissed it quickly because fake reviews is not a problem I have. Maybe I'm not the target market? I do buy a lot on Amazon but can't recall ever thinking I felt burned by fake reviews.
If Proton is not appealing, what about mailbox.org?

Though perhaps the "ethics" you're referring to, they invest in bootstrapped companies who aren't necessarily on the venture track moonshot rat race. For me, that's a big part of the unethical side of VC: Throwing money at a 1,000 ideas and expecting 999 of them to fail in hopes of one goldmine.
My own company, StatusGator, took a small investment from them even though we swore we'd never take VC money. It was a great choice for us and I feel TinySeed's ethics and values far outshine other investors.

Do you really believe it was a not a deliberate choice to not show the side by side comparison?
There indeed has been an uptick in AWS outages recently. You can see a bit of the history here: https://statusgator.com/services/amazon-web-services

The idea was that by forcing myself to write about Vim consistently, I would learn and absorb more and boy has it worked.
Their API is great: we were able to automate deployments of branded status dashboards very quickly. There are some rough edges around domain name management but overall the experience is very developer-friendly, analogous to Heroku but for a different architecture.
The main change they made in 2017 was the ability to post a message at the top of the page that is independent of the status of the individual items below. IIRC, it was the items they couldn't update. So that is kind of a hack, but it works.
It would be ideal if it was host entirely on completely separate infrastructure, and even a separate domain, but I won't hold my breath. Theirs is still more reliable than, for example, the IBM Cloud status page which was hard down during their epic outage back in June.
