Our own fault really. We make reams of regulations with no accommodation for small competitors so being "To Big To Fail" becomes a requirement of doing business. Not surprisingly the resulting oligopoly quietly colludes amongst itself.

That, and he's on the wrong side of 40, surrounded by young, low cost immigrants in a sanctuary city. Why incur FICA/Medicare/etc contributions for an actual citizen?
> Menial jobs
Guess we found and American that will do those jobs, despite the narrative we're fed.
"I’ve been looking for a job here in San Francisco for the past three years. Very hard though, nobody wants to hire a foreigner. Most people think I’m a Russian terrorist because of my accent. ”You kill Americans. People say these things based on how I look and speak. It’s tough, you know? I get sad at heart when they shout like that at me. I just try to do good and provide for myself and my family."
San Francisco... I've spent time in San Francisco. It's not like that. Almost 40% of the population is foreign born and gainfully employed at something. Probably 100% of the employers this guy is likely to be an applicant of are foreign born. I really, really doubt his narrative of irrational 'muricans shouting "turrurist herp derp!" at him.
You can't find a job because you're old and living in a nation filled with unemployed older ex-workers. This state of affairs is deliberate policy so you're right to leave; it's not going to get better, particularly if you insist on living in CA. But please, stop it with the "everyone think i terrorist" fiction; most people in San Francisco struggle with very concept of terrorism; so-called terrorists are just the victims of capitalism righteously fighting back against their oppressors.
I agree. Lets have some real scorched Earth progressivism lest our famously short attention span have us forgetting why we elected Trump and reelected his party's Congress.
That is correct. And the electorate just validated them for their service at protecting the nation.
I'm sure they'll welcome yet more pity to wallow in.
Tesla is another great example. Ordinarily, self serving research by a corporation is dismissed as junk science or "misinformation." But let Tesla publish survey results [1] to argue their end of a regulatory dispute and that view ricochets around the progressive echo chamber as though a voice from the sky had spoken The Word, Tesla of course being the golden boy of anti-fossil fuel group thinkers.
The sudden concern for the consequences of stopping these big trade deals is nothing more than partisanship. Pretend otherwise if you wish, but it's dead either way and the world is better for it. Thank you President Elect Trump.

I've had that remittances argument thrown at me so many times; do you honestly believe ---- I mean actually and genuinely believe ---- that transferring money back home is somehow equivalent to participating in the fate of your nation personally as a worker, parent, voter, dissident, etc.? Citing remittances is just another lame attempt to rationalize tolerating illegal immigration because admitting that there might actually be a great benefit to these countries if the US stopped stealing their youth is abhorrent to the leftist mind. You're so wrapped up in your SJW views you won't allow yourself to see the real damage.
Remittances don't fix anything. None of these nations that export their youth and collect remittances ever get better; Mexico, Haiti, so many Middle Eastern and North African nations, former Soviet republics exporting their youth to the EU... they fester on as failed states forever because the people they need to deal with the fail just leave for greener pastures. Individually you can't blame them, but the collective outcome is tragic. All remittances do is allow origin nations to subsist on a trickle of hard currency and continue feeding wealthy nations with more young.
> We mess with their government, incentivize [sic] them to sell us drugs by having so much demand for them, and exploit their natural resources.
All of these same conditions apply to Canada yet, somehow, Canada isn't a third world kleptocracy.
> If anything, this is why I don't get anyone who thinks its JUST the immigrants fault
Your 'anyone' that blames only immigrants is a mostly a strawman; there are despicable people in the world but that's not who elected Trump, despite what you think. We know employers create demand by employing illegals, and we know those employers buy politicians to oppose securing the border. We know drug abusers in the US create demand for narcotics, and we know securing the border will hinder their supply from Mexico, dealing a great blow to Mexican drug cartels; yet another important benefit of securing the border.
Mexico can't ever improve while the US continues to steal their despondent youth for low cost landscaping, house painting and wait staff. The very people with the courage and energy to leave their home countries to improve their lot are precisely the people needed to effect change against a corrupt regime. Our tolerance of mass illegal immigration is actually immoral; their are tens of millions of victims left to suffer bandit republics and kleptocracies because that small fraction of their populations that would otherwise have had the motivation to pick up a weapon and do something about it are instead occupied hanging drywall somewhere in the US.
You did?? He's been personally promising to build it 3-5 times a day to tens of thousands of people in every competitive state in the US. It's kind of hard to miss...
>> Why would Mexico have to pay for that? ... It's like building a wall on your property and demanding your neighbors pay for it.
Except the neighbors -- to stretch the analogy a bit more -- have their children, pets and a few spare vehicles in your yard and have become accustomed to browbeating you into not complaining about it. Trump et al. plan on altering this dynamic.
Comfortable, secure people are often oblivious. Redwood CA demos are changing very fast; we'll see if you're still as blind in a few years.
Nothing at all is wrong with that. If ESPN, NFL, et al. feel the need to implode their white guy safe space and destroy their own finances in the process, well, it's a free country. I'm good with it. It will also serve to pull some of these people out of the la-la land they live in and face the reality of the hate filled grievance mongers they're surrounded by and have been studiously ignoring all their lives. I see that as a big win. So yes, please continue; fill every game and all the space in between with lectures and --- most importantly --- continue pretending the collapse of NFL revenue has nothing to do with it.
Some have argued that this is really about cord cutting and nothing to do with the intrusion of political controversy. That is badly naive. Watch a Trump rally some time. Call it cultural interest or whatever. Note the thousands of people yelling "CNN sucks! CNN sucks! CNN sucks!" No, it's not really about the Cable News Network specifically; they have the entire MSM in mind, including Hollywood, all cable news and --- now --- professional sports, the only remaining reason they had to justify their $100+/month cable bill. It's exactly the same demographic; some are just a bit ahead of the curve.
The rest will follow.
