Red panda not fox

This is not true for any of the nuclear waste generated in the US. Your talking about a fantasy world, not the current state.

A relative had this or a similar test come back positive. This sounds like a helpful signal on paper, but in reality it's not always actionable.

They assumed their previous cancer had survived and metastasized. Doctors couldn't find the source. It turned into a waiting game, where they lived with a sword of Damocles over their head. They were retested every few months and monitored. Then after a year the tests the levels dropped off. And the end result was nothing came of it so far.

It's normal to have some amount of pre-cancerous cells get naturally removed by your immune system. And this catches those too.

All dolphins are whales. Not all whales are dolphins. It's a square / rectangle situation.

Orcas are indeed dolphins, and also whales.

The AI should be forced to use the same rules as the human. Not the other way around. The AI shouldn't be using outside resources.

This is the best you can come up with? Supporting women's rights is propaganda?

Sadly the other power here is turbotax/intuit :(

I'm surprised both the blog post and all the other comments don't mention how it should have logic to check if the item exists in the path before adding it. Otherwise you get duplicates added everytime you source your config.

Your function does that so +1. Though I'd use

    [[ $PATH =~ "(^|:)$newelement($|:)" ]]

over grep -q but it functions the same.

Yes teens are forced to use social media or miss out on interacting with and making friends.

The longitudinal facebook/Instagram study that came out a few years ago found that those who abstained felt ostracized.

You sound like a boomer who says kids don't need a phone and should just go knock on another kids door to make friends.

That's not true. The actual number for that question that said they would trust most/always is 23%.

You're just assuming there were only two options for that question and making up a number.

From memory: Firehose > Watchtower > WCC > SCC > Jupiter v1

Looks like you're making up a strawman to ague with. But either way, I hope no one is ever indifferent to the suffering of you or your family. Sounds like hell.

Running a gas powered drone in a low oxygen environment sounds like a great way to get the next cavers killed by asphyxiation

Factory farms do not make animals suffer less, quite the opposite

Me too, but that was in the past before $200 cleaning fees for a 2 night stay. It's not always the cheaper option anymore.

I don't fully agree all of the top commenters points, but I do on their price one. Airbnbs used to be significantly cheaper than hotels and now, in many metros throughout the world, they're comparable.

It's just down to tradeoffs on what you're looking for. You can get a kitchen and a bit more space with an airbnb, but you give up on the hotel amenities of support/cleaning staff, and lounge/gym spaces. Don't get me wrong, I usually value a full kitchen over maid service. But I was able to stay at nobu for a comparable price to a 2 bedroom in Barcelona.

I do agree with your point about renting a room in someones place. But that's now a small fraction of airbnb's business compared to renting a full place.

Since the article never defines what a BERT is:

It's a slot machine game. Seems like it's being enforced properly in this scenario.

By accepting the ToS you consent to whatever they want you to.

The FBI's evidence wasn't strong enough to even try him for this. Charges were dropped. If it happened the way the FBI said initially it would have been open and shut. But I guess they lied about what they had.

Looking for senior SRE/DevOps/SWE positions in the bay area. 10 years of experience working on large scale infrastructure engineering projects.

It has directly caused hepatitis infections in swimmers.

I think you should start by dumping your sewage directly in the street and argue with your neighbors that the impact isn't major. Report back on how it goes.

> 2 Mental health conditions include deaths of suicide, overdose/poisoning related to substance use disorder, and other deaths determined by the MMRC to be related to a mental health condition, including substance use disorder.

Deaths by suicide and drug abuse are indeed preventable. Are you misconstruing the word preventable to mean 100% preventable?

I think it's realistic to assume that this happens but it doesn't mean it should be accepted. How can you trust in the leadership of someone you know will lie whenever they think it will get them a slightly better outcome? Execs like that are not leaders and they should not be in those positions.

The proper analogy would be Safeway forbidding Nabisco from letting their products be sold cheaper at any other supermarket. Which is ridiculous.

You are vastly over simplifying this problem. If it was that simple why did yucca mountain fail? It's not. Realistically every nuclear facility is gonna be a waste storage site for thousands of years. That's not being factored into the cost.

Having one nuclear waste dump site per country means transporting nuclear waste to that site by truck or train. Good luck when there's an accident.

Most people would be disgusted by a slaughter house, but vegans aren't trying to enshrine forced veganism into law.

There was an article posted recently about a lab testing paper straws and finding pfas chemicals in nearly all of them. They're used for their water resistant properties. And there was no way to tell from the packaging.
