cdurth··on Jailbroken iOS can't run macOS apps – I spent a week to find out why (2021)
>As for "stuck with", well, web works, O365 works, Affinity creative suite works with pencil no less, and remote dev experiences work, to name a few.

One chrome book please

cdurth··on What Are POAPs and Why Are They Important?
It's not on chain, so that's really an apples to oranges comparison.

I just found the gravitation to it's value is interesting. With that thinking, does one think about the worth of their ticket stub after spending $70 on concert tickets?

cdurth··on What Are POAPs and Why Are They Important?
I'm curious. Why did you mention what it's currently worth?

Pretty neat utility concept. I'm currently working with this service to add interactivity with other NFTs.

I did have a poor experience setting up test events, but I think this is on their middle layer and hopefully can get cleaned up. Also annoying that the token points back to their API for full metadata.

This "company" might not be the winner, but the idea of POAP is promising both IRL & metaverse.

I personally have more faith in utility NFT than "art".

cdurth··on YouTube is about to pull its apps from Roku
Thanks for sharing this! Recently started using youtube-dl's built in channel scraping but it is clunky and slow. Few months ago ads on youtube app on Roku went from aprx 1 per 10 minutes to every 3 minutes. Had enough of that and started scraping my subscriptions to Plex
cdurth··on Aegis Authenticator – Open-source 2FA for Android
I would say not when you can secure bitwarden with a hardware key 2FA.
cdurth··on Windows 10: HOSTS file blocking telemetry is now flagged as a risk
any curated block lists you recommend for the lazy?
cdurth··on Let's guess what Google requires in 14 days or they kill our extension
I as well. Gmail is now my spam account. Very happy with ProtonMail.
cdurth··on GitHub’s new offer closely matches that from GitLab
we utilize other systems for this (not great, but works). for the type of work we do, global search is a huge win over other potential trade offs.
cdurth··on GitHub’s new offer closely matches that from GitLab
My small org will be moving back to GitHub. While GitLab is a fantastic product, we have been looking for a low cost global search ability, and well, you can't argue with _free_.
cdurth··on An Update from Robinhood’s Founders
Yesterday was the largest upswing in market history and the entirety of RH missed out.
cdurth··on Fancy Zones, a tiling window manager
i cant seem to get it to work with additional monitors, what did you do to get it working?
cdurth··on Show HN: Zepel, a Jira alternative for product teams
API for time tracking and projects/tasks (our specific use case would be for time and billing of projects into an ERP system). GitLab integration could be interesting for the client portals. We have use cases where we are creating GitLab users for clients and somewhat using that as a "portal".

Outlook integration would be nice as well. We used a simple jira plugin that would copy contents of email and make a task for a specific project.

just read through your license and it looks like buyers will be allowed to hack it to their liking +1

cdurth··on Show HN: Zepel, a Jira alternative for product teams
this is really slick. any plans for an API for other integrations?
cdurth··on Entire staffs at 3 Sonic locations quit after wages cut to '$4/hour plus tips'
Ohioan here, this is correct, however i can't find an official gov source that explains the tip credit mentioned in the new 2019 wage poster [1] [1](https://www.com.ohio.gov/documents/dico_2019Minimumwageposte...)
cdurth··on Terrapattern – A visual search tool for satellite imagery
This tweet is from 2018, inferring May 2018? Still appears that it was abandoned, just correcting.
cdurth··on Show HN: YourNote, a note-taking app that puts users’ data first
I am also curious, still my daily note app, haven't noticed anything (app facing wise, not following OSS drama if there is any)
cdurth··on Show HN: Qeys.io – Web app license validation
From above, it would sound like it O.o
cdurth··on Show HN: JQBX – Social Listening Web/Mobile App
In that scenario, you would have to have 100 accounts. It is possible to get licensed to do that (i inquired about it for an app i wanted to expand www.r3vl.com) but those music API services require a 6 digit sum of $$$ for commitment... so i moved on

quick edit, if those 100 speakers were simply ONLY broadcasting, you could get licensed as a radio, but if you want the ability to have others select songs, it is pricey

cdurth··on If Fortnite Were a Website, It Would Rival Reddit and Amazon
PUBG is a terrible implementation with textures and assets purchased off the unreal store. PUBG piggybacked off the popularity of H1Z1 and took off because it was slightly better. Fortnite, although cartoony, is by large and far the most stable and most competitive battle Royale out there. Epic's update pipeline and developer blogs are phenomenal, especially compared to Bluehole. PUBG performs worse in it's current state than when it did pre-release.
cdurth··on Robinhood Desktop – Open Source
Why does this require an account other than robinhood?
cdurth··on The Case for React-Like Web Components
Very silly. If you are keeping up with the latest and greatest in JS, you have the 20 minutes to sit down and learn the basics of a framework that will make your life a bit easier. This argument will never end, code hipsters need their voices heard.
cdurth··on Paying journalists to promote brands in articles
We do it for our politicians...why stop there
cdurth··on Is Bitcoin surge driven by paid-publicity (similar to US election story)?
Not specifically for a coin, but i saw a FB ad yesterday for a magical cryptocurrency script that would make you millions off a small investment. I had a good laugh

cdurth··on Show HN: Telescope, a news reader app

cdurth··on Verizon announces plans to install a download-tracking app on its Android phones
IMO, it is very ignorant to think they are not getting the data from apple. They just have the ability to openly do it on their own with android.
cdurth··on Verizon announces plans to install a download-tracking app on its Android phones
What does apple have to do with this?
