camillovisini··on Ask HN: Would you still choose Ruby on Rails for a startup in 2025?
Once I found Ruby on Rails, I've never looked back. Simply put, no other framework I've worked with (in the Python and JS ecosystems, where I started out years ago), would come close in terms of speed - measured in the number of features as I can ship with Rails. It's just that good, and Ruby is an absolute joy to write.

Some time ago, I've read a book by architect and design theorist Christopher Alexander. In it, he presents a series of essential characteristics of wholeness: The "Fifteen Fundamental Properties" that give life to objects and buildings. I attempted to distill the essence of each property and have noted them here primarily for my own reference:

Last year I've read a book by architect and design theorist Christopher Alexander. He introduces a collection of fundamental properties of wholeness - the Fifteen Fundamental Properties from which life in objects and buildings emerges. I tried to capture the essence of each property, mostly for my own reference I put them here https://camillovisini.com/article/fifteen-fundamental-proper...

Studying Lenin's Brain: https://brain.mpg.de/institute/history/lenins-brain.html

When Lenin died of a brain hemorrhage in 1924, his brain was preserved in formaldehyde, where it remained for two years. In 1926, [German physician and neurologist Oskar] Vogt was recruited by the Soviet government to help establish Lenin's genius via histological investigation of his brain.

In 1927, Vogt gave a preliminary report on his findings in Moscow, concluding from his histological observations that Lenin must have been an athlete in associative thinking ("Assoziationsathlet") - a conclusion deemed farfetched by some of his neurologist colleagues and adversaries.
