caiob··on Headless mode in Firefox
From a security POV, the URL being displayed at all times is absolutely necessary in order to avoid phishing.
caiob··on Bitcoin just passed $4,000
And I thought prefixing it with "Honest question:" would convey tone. Thanks for the lingo tips, next time I'll type more eloquently.
caiob··on Bitcoin just passed $4,000
Interesting trend. Def a gamble though.
caiob··on Bitcoin just passed $4,000
Business valuations are different than currency exchange rates IMO. What's wrong with my comment? Is asking about something I don't understand wrong?
caiob··on Bitcoin just passed $4,000
I didn't say I don't care. I'm asking to be educated, unfortunately instead I'm being downvoted.
caiob··on Bitcoin just passed $4,000
Honest question: Why should I care?
caiob··on Swift 5: start your engines
This is the question I've been asking my iOS dev buddies, with a catch: I want up-to-date resources. None of them were able to share a link so far.
caiob··on Disney acquires own streaming facilities, will pull Netflix content
This will probably mean that Canadians, once again, will be left out in the cold.
caiob··on Google Can't Seem to Tolerate Diversity
Wish I could paste that Michael Scott "Thank You" gif here.
caiob··on Man spraypaints Twitter office sidewalk with abusive tweets it refuses to delete
Well, he should. He's a vandal (no pun intended).
caiob··on Firefox Send: Encrypt and send large files
It doesn't work in Safari.
caiob··on Tools for Remote Software Development and Pair Programming
Is Wemux (https://github.com/zolrath/wemux) still relevant?
caiob··on European Parliament Draft to Enforce End-To-End Encryption for Citizens' Privacy
Not an argument, just a product of pure ignorance.
caiob··on Firefox 55 for developers
Both Safari and Chrome have recently adopted a 'flatter' version of their icon colours. Firefox still holds on to quite a few gradients.
caiob··on European Parliament Draft to Enforce End-To-End Encryption for Citizens' Privacy
Hmm... if we're picking a lingua franca for the Earth, that would have to be Mandarin (~14% of the world's population speak it)
caiob··on European Parliament Draft to Enforce End-To-End Encryption for Citizens' Privacy
I thought Maltese was Malta's official first language.
caiob··on European Parliament Draft to Enforce End-To-End Encryption for Citizens' Privacy
Shouldn't the first version be in French then?
caiob··on European Parliament Draft to Enforce End-To-End Encryption for Citizens' Privacy
Trying to make sense of these drafts still being written in English, given that with Brexit, none of the countries in EU zone have English as their first language (with exception of Ireland). Convention?
caiob··on Firefox 55 for developers
> _All of this is leading up to Firefox 57, which will be a major release in November that marks the deprecation of legacy add-on APIs in favor of cross-browser "WebExtensions", an overhauled UI ("Photon"), and the integration of many components from the Servo Parallel Browser Project ("Quantum")._

Is Firefox getting a more modern icon anytime soon? it's starting to show its age.

caiob··on Apple Is Trying to Make iMessages More Private
That's an issue even Governments can't deal with, we can't expect Apple to be able to circumvent Chinese laws.
caiob··on Apple Is Trying to Make iMessages More Private
Apple can't simply register devices into your account, they would have to have access to your iCloud account, which they can only get using one of those keys.
caiob··on JSC loves ES6
Worth noting that Safari Technology Preview was the first browser to support all of ECMAScript 2016+ features.

caiob··on Safari 11.0
That's exactly one of the reasons I use Safari as my daily driver. Not everybody likes the shiny colorful icons. I think it looks better without it.
caiob··on Source: Apple to discontinue iPad mini
The thing is, if you read the full article, they don't even mention they have a source. They're just publishing their best guesses IMHO.
caiob··on Source: Apple to discontinue iPad mini
The article does not look credible. It has no source, no evidence whatsoever. Am I supposed to take the author's word as gospel?
caiob··on [dead]
@dang Sorry, but isn't that the whole point of a comment system? Get people to discourse about their POVs and ideas? According to your logic, both sides should refrain from opposing each other.
caiob··on [dead]
It's kinda ironic that my comment gets down voted, isn't it? Either you agree with the Liberal views on HN or you're a troll.
caiob··on Homebrew 1.2.0
Huge respect for the Homebrew devs and community. They make my life so much easier every day.
caiob··on Apple cuts App Store affiliate commission from 7% to 2.5%
Affiliate commissions generate a lot of fake reviews. I think this is a good move by Apple; although I believe they should simply shut down the entire program.
caiob··on Chicago's About to Get a Lot Less Orange
Sao Paulo's former mayor Fernando Haddad's popularity took a plunge as soon as he announced that he was replacing all conventional bulbs with LED. The population thought that was a step backwards and instead elected the host of the Brazilian version of "The Apprentice". Sound familiar?
