My issue is I'm getting to the point where I have to wonder if "Details in the back" are preserved, or if they're re-added via some sort of post-processing filter. Are those REALLY the details in the photo?

This coincides with the release of Opus 5.5. Wonder if that has any causal relationship to this?

Zawinski's Law: Every program attempts to expand until it can read mail. Those programs which cannot so expand are replaced by ones which can.

Maybe Todd's more a champion of the people than I originally realized. Not retreading ground with remasters is admirable in my book.

Xbox360 was the second best system behind PS2 in my mind. PS4, Switch, and Super Nintendo get honorable mentions.

I never considered the compound interest angle. This helps me reason about my life; thanks!

Who do you leak to when you believe even your organization is compromised/complicit? Who watches the watchmen? He chose 'the people' and I can't fault him for it.

Or it was a crime of opportunity on Russia's part. "Hey, we didn't plan this but since his passport just got revoked, what if Good Ol' Uncle Putin extended a hand? Maybe we could flip him."

Whether the play worked or not doesn't really matter. I don't think his citizenship status is contingent on him leaking to Russia explicitly, and I don't think he started as a Russian spy. I think it was a crime of opportunity; a play.

It's all fun and games until the mind wanders to you getting polonium-210'd for your work, and you decide 'my life isn't worth _this_.' It's kind of dumb people choose fear, but I understand it.

It's a little disingenuous that I can't toggle notifications for Settings.app off in the Notifications section of Settings.
butlike··on Turn off and restrict access to Apple Intelligence features on Mac
The pictures start to take up a non-zero amount of space. Also video shot with the Camera.app gets lumped into the "Photos" partition of iCloud, so it becomes hard to separate the large video files from the countless photos you have.

It feels like I'm playing a dream.

Too bad the dated puzzles pull me out of it so much.

Oh nice. I saw that reading the document and thought it was an intentional way to not spoil the game, even for the people reading the document. It's like: ok, you've read the descriptions and solutions to countless of the games puzzles at this point, trust that we have the last puzzle on lock. This would get the reader's brain percolating with creative ideas on what the last puzzle could be.

Interesting that that's not actually the case.

The issue with iCloud is that before you even know it, you're paying $9.99/mo. Since 200gb is quite low, the next tier up is 2tb for $9.99, but then you're essentially locked in. I can't view the iCloud price tiers as anything other than predatory.

True, but I can make my own boogers, and kind of do automatically, so that's pretty common. Some people get fecal transplants, which is rarer, but let's say if I want to build... I don't know, lets say a house. I can lay the bricks myself, which is a transaction against my lifespan (not just a transaction on a product of my body like boogers or fecal matter), or I can hire you. When you're hired, I essentially get two lives since I can do life things at a rate of 2x while you remain employed. I guess the real value comes in buying your time, not necessarily the product of 'you.'

Life is both scarce AND irreplaceable, which is why the valuation is so high.

They can't unless the tuner produces a copyrighted work for whatever their purpose would be, because they can step in and "detune" the thing at 3am for a competitive advantage.
butlike··on XCancel service is suspended until further notice
Xcancel isn't copying the copyrighted content either. It takes the raw JSON/HTML data from twitter/x via reverse proxy and redisplays it on xcancel, as opposed to twitter/x. How is that copying?

Is it that much more valuable to click on an ad than see it? I mean, network television operated on ads you can't click on for decades and made billion-dollar empires.
butlike··on XCancel service is suspended until further notice
Well, to be fair, time is more valuable than money. You can't make more time.

The MOMENT xcancel gets shut down, someone should sue the president for putting official communication on a closed platform.

I think there's some truth to this. All those decisions and interactions at your fingertips cause dopamine release, which in excess can cause things like psychosis, paranoia, or delusions.

To add on to what you're saying: he didn't really want to make MGS3 either. I believe he said in a Game Informer interview from 2001 that he wanted 2 to be the final chapter. I might be getting my source wrong.

I have an iPhone Air and the ONLY issue I've had is accidentally tapping the screen since the screen is so close to the edge of the device. Not battery life, not the speaker, not the single camera. I've only ever had issues with accidental tapping.
