bulbosaur123··on I used DALL·E 2 to generate a logo
Disagree. Just allow one or two more iterations and it will supersede human abilities. Think ahead. Tech progress won't stop.
bulbosaur123··on Why is DALL-E a scam?
It's clearly an artist seething at grim realization that they are about to get irrevocably replaced.
bulbosaur123··on Why is DALL-E a scam?
It's not just DALLE. This logic can be applied to Imagine, Parti, Midjourney, Gato, GPT-3 and any other ML technology.
bulbosaur123··on Why is DALL-E a scam?
Any idea when could we expect DALLE to reach Google Parti levels of detail?
bulbosaur123··on Former Coinbase PM charged in cryptocurrency insider trading tipping scheme
Where is the fraud? They can't charge with insider trading, because insider trading does not apply to currencies or cryptocurrencies.
bulbosaur123··on Former Coinbase PM charged in cryptocurrency insider trading tipping scheme
Charged for what? There is no "insider trading" with cryptos, just as there isn't any with Forex, fiat currencies. He can't be charged, because there is no crime. No law prevents you to trade cryptocurrencies or fiat on insider knowledge. Might be unethical, but not illegal.
bulbosaur123··on DALL·E now available in beta
Reread what I said: I WANT THE DALLE GENERATOR TO SHOW THE WORLD AS IT IS NOT AS PEOPLE WISH IT WAS.
bulbosaur123··on DALL·E now available in beta
Yes, I did. I want it to show world as it is not as people want it to be.
bulbosaur123··on Show HN: Colorvote.io – ranking all sRGB web colors by popularity
They should create a little "status map" which shows the entire palette of all available sRGB colors and fills out those who have been voted on.

That would at least make it interesting to keep voting and seeing the map fill out.

bulbosaur123··on Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars
What made the genre die out?
bulbosaur123··on How to make decisions like a poker player
> Put more extremely, if I offer you a 99% chance to take make one billion dollars (legally) and a 1% chance of being killed, would you take it? I definitely wouldn't.

I would even if it offered 50+% of getting killed. The small chance you strike a billion is worth the risk.

bulbosaur123··on When Tether Blows Up
Disagree. Everyone already knows about the Tether scam, so the risk is priced in. Nobody will really lose confidence as everyone expects it to blow up for a decade now. Secondly, people will just switch to USDC.
bulbosaur123··on Tether starting to lose its peg too, after Terra did
It wouldn't be a big deal, because people would just switch to USDC.
bulbosaur123··on LineByLine: Memorize Anything
I use Anki for studying rare words in dictionary, traffic rules, traditions and foreign languages.
bulbosaur123··on LineByLine: Memorize Anything
Cool, some UX tips: Remove fade ins, fade outs. Takes too long. I use Anki daily and would use this app for longer texts to compare to Anki, but everything has to be optimised for minimum amount of clicks with no fancy effects like fade ins. When you are working with 50 texts a day those pause intervals for extra clicking and fade ins add up and burn time. Add keywords shortcuts like in Anki. Clicking with mouse is too toiling. Space should be used to reveal text and 1 and 2 buttons to confirm if you memorised or not. Add push notifications for daily exercise reminders. Good potential though.
bulbosaur123··on Ethereum Has Issues
Let me guess. "It's still early". No it's not. "Still early" is the laggard's cope. We are in late stage of adoption, entire countries (El Salvador) have adopted Bitcoin, to what effect is up for discussion. One thing is clear, it's no longer "early".
bulbosaur123··on Ethereum Has Issues
What useful has Ethereum created apart from providing an ever-bloating platform for generation of infinite digital-only tokens? As of 2022 the oracle problem still hasn't been solved, so actual decentralized, objective real life object-to-blockchain interaction is impossible. Monero added fully anonymous crypto that is used by most of the dark web. USDT, USDC provided stablecoins that can circumvent what fiat can't. Bitcoin is first mover, largest liquidity, organic distribution, most decentralised and most tested (least chance of bugs compared to other projects).

What legitimate use apart from creation of infinite, meaningless tokens has Ethereum provided?

bulbosaur123··on DALL-E, the Metaverse, and Zero Marginal Content
AIDungeon: been there, done that. It will become a battlefield of the most insane perversions and you know it.
bulbosaur123··on Space debris forces astronauts on space station to take shelter in return ships
It might be in Putin's interest to create conditions favourable for eventual Kessler Syndrome.

If this happens, is there some long list of all the implications on international politics, relations and just our daily lives in general?

bulbosaur123··on Repeat Yourself, a Lot
"Am I overlooking something?" Oh, how clever. Using the "no" oriented questions already. I see what you are doing.
