Interview questions with one solution "that’s pretty clever" are IMO, bad. Even cliche "easy" fizzbuzz. Ok...so you know modulo.
Rationing out hints towards that "one weird trick" sounds slightly like a cat toying with a struggling mouse.
(Speakers like Simon Sinek have made entire careers out of this specific rhetorical approach.)
In almost all cases, x is both y and z. Such is the truth about tech debt. Tech debt can but a strategic lever for success but is usually simultaneously a burden.
I don't find the examples in the article very on point. Twitter using publicly available storage systems until 2014 doesn't strike me as a form tech debt at all. Rather it is is a logical system design decision based on Twitter's business and organizational focus at the time.
Couple questions and observations:
What are you asking for in the "Linked Profile URL" field. "https://gosauber.com/register" A link to one's profile on truepeoplesearch or the like? It isn't clear. (And it also might imply a user's info would only be removed from that site).
The navigation links on the top ("features, "how does it work", "plans", etc) only work at the root url of your page. They don't function on /register or similar because they point to html IDs on the landing page, not a full or relative url path.
Again, great idea!
1. The Revel scooters feel somewhat sketchy to ride 2. Prices have crept up significantly. A 14 minute ride I just took was 10+ bucks, which isn't too much different than being chauffeured in an Uber/Lyft. I'd guess Revel is still operating at a loss, there is just less VC capital funding the rides now.
The best thing we can do is keep each other safe.
I'm guilty of driving fast in in the past. I'm glad i aged past it and found other sources of identity.
One can surely take mini-retirements between jobs, but realistically, it's harder to get salary bumps when you NEED a job and you don't have the luxury of choosing to stay at your current spot if an offer isn't an increase. Also one normally needs to stay at jobs for two years or otherwise can look like a risky hire.
Five years of semi-monastic living with a good dev salary can be enough to buy freedom to work as little or as much as one chooses for the rest of life.
please don't
Doing so enables him to get higher pay band set for the position and get better candidates who might accept, even if they have less experience.
Still an insane choice as headphones have their wires on the left ear so when on my work macbook i have a wire either under or over my wrists. (Or behind the display, which shortens cable length significantly and pulls a sharp angle which will ruin my Sony MDR 7506 soon enough.
I am doing lots of volunteer work with my car - and a Prius hatchback seems to be an ideal vessel for deliveries and transporting goods. If you need to haul more, a minivan or cargo van could be the way to go.
I do wonder if at 39 i am in fact young enough to be in the most-likely-to-survive-if-exposed group.
Seriously though, looking at your linkedin profile, you have been out of school for less than 2 years. There's a lot more to learn about other people.
This shortly following Golbert jokingly (ugh) rubbing all of the mics at an interview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qxtxIVtOZE
We would almost expect to see an antidepressants<>shootings correlation:
- mentally unwell people are given drugs
- mentally unwell people shoot other people.
That isn't causation.
If you get a complaint about somebody somebody in your organization, the first thing it is time to do is listen to both sides with your best critical thinking hat on. Going into a conversation with the accused party with the intention of getting them to do anything, before hearing their side, is an injustice.
