Care to share??? :)

bramadityaw··on I like 'em thick: an apology to my English teachers
This is a really good essay. I'll bookmark it as motivation for my own art.
bramadityaw··on Teaching my kid to code with a modern MUD
this is a great project! would love to use this when I get to teach programming again

bramadityaw··on “Code was never the hard part” is an insult to all programmers
permission to steal this idiom :) hope it catches on.
bramadityaw··on You might want to build your WebApp in Canvas instead of HTML
If you've decided to make your next webapp's interface in Canvas, you are jeopardizing what makes the web flourish in the first place: openness. I personally agree with DHH that View Source is one of the browser's most liberating feature. Others in this thread have also pointed issues in accessibility.

It's a shame that this is what the web is trending towards with more and more enterprise interest in the internet.

bramadityaw··on “Code was never the hard part” is an insult to all programmers
> ...it's better to be a goat than a cow.

That's the first time I've heard that idiom. What does it mean?

bramadityaw··on Show HN: Wyzer Programming Language
Zig's way is "simple" but not elegant, specifically since it hard codes how error handling is done. Algebraic data types are more elegant, since it can be used not just for error handling, but also other kinds of data modeling.
bramadityaw··on Show HN: Wyzer Programming Language
question: how accurate is the intuition that role types are the location a computation happens?
bramadityaw··on Show HN: Wyzer Programming Language
isn't there a way to infer that from context? like if the variable is declared with the Comptime role. Some guy said that the const keyword was a mistake C made that is then blindly followed by its successors.
bramadityaw··on Show HN: Wyzer Programming Language
you should really put some of the content in RESEARCH.md to the README.md. The language's core idea shouldn't just be known to contributors.
bramadityaw··on Software is about people, not code (2020)
they are not saying code is worthless. they are saying that code which serves nobody is worthless. if you think that website sucks, it probably means that whoever is behind it don't know (or care) that a user like you exist, which is a pity.
bramadityaw··on Prevent cognitive debt by manually retyping LLM-generated code
this seems redundant as a methodology. just write the damn code yourself at that point.

bramadityaw··on A pure scheme web programming tool
I tried to edit the Scheme source but it seems to have a bug where every editing action seems to happen a row above of where the cursor is.
bramadityaw··on Ask HN: What are you working on? (May 2026)
I am working on blase (https://github.com/bramadityaw/blase), a language server for Laravel's Blade templating language. This is a proof-of-concept project that I plan to make into a submodule inside a more general PHP language server.
bramadityaw··on Moss: a Rust Linux-compatible kernel in 26,000 lines of code
shouldn't this be a ShowHN?
bramadityaw··on Unofficial, rules-compliant, browser based Arkham Horror: The Card Game
Code is open source at https://github.com/halogenandtoast/ArkhamHorror

Made in Haskell btw.

bramadityaw··on The code and open-source tools I used to produce a science fiction anthology
typst FTW
bramadityaw··on Goto Considered Harmless
I consider this the official alternative title :)
bramadityaw··on Goto Considered Harmless
I admit that the example is contrived, and the control flow can be followed quite clearly because of the example's size. However, imagine that f and g is placed in different source files in a large project. That's what Dijkstra detests about arbitrary labels, in that a program's control flow is only obvious to the guy who first wrote it.
bramadityaw··on Goto Considered Harmless
My point is exactly that. C is a structured, procedural programming language that will only consider procedurally scoped labels. You can't execute it because it is not valid C that a standard compiler would accept, and we should be thankful because of that.
bramadityaw··on Functional Programming Concepts
Thanks for reading! Interesting. Thats kind of like FRP right? 3D CAD modeling seems like a really good domain for such a paradigm, coupled with a declarative style of programming.
bramadityaw··on Functional Programming Concepts
Hi! As part of a college assignment, I was asked to write an introduction to a technical concept. I chose functional programming. Let me know what you think!
