What a stupid answer to that question! (it gives more info - "You can set an expiry time by pressing the "Options"-button that's next to your uploaded file, otherwise your files will float in the clouds for as long as possible." - but it still doesn't really give any answer)
Gmail auto preloads (via their servers) all images in emails. You can turn it off though.
(lots of sources on internet about this, http://www.guidingtech.com/13461/gmail-always-display-images... for example)
Hotels can normally link a computer on their network to a room number... Suggesting they use a hotel wifi isn't a good idea IMO (unless you are not actually a guest, and its just an open public wifi network).

I prefer vim in a proper gui though (as opposed to in a terminal app), its just a bit easier sometimes to use a mouse...
