berecruited··on Report: Google Reducing AdSense Payout to Make Quarter?
My payments have been stable - but nothing to write home about (biggest revenue comes from other networks). The telling sign will be from those who get $5,000+ / month consistently. If traffic is consistent, the change would be:

1) advertisers pulling campaigns (unlikely to happen so quickly) 2) google changes rev share (likely? unlikely?)

berecruited··on Tracking iPhone Buzz on Twitter, Facebook, Google & Techmeme
@josefresco - is gossip every truly useful? :)
berecruited··on Attention Start Ups: Key Lessons in Email Marketing!
Another lesson in email marketing that's not discussed in the article is around email frequency. One key to powerful emails is getting the timing right. Sending weekly emails is for some companies too much... and for others too little.

It's imperative to track your email campaigns:

views

clicks

activities / goals

session length

then return sessions

It's also important to give users the ability to set their own timing. Some users want emails with every update (ie on Facebook). Others want daily summaries.

berecruited··on Twitter's (Big) Problems in Pretty Pictures
Hysterical... I thought about following Juci until I saw those updates!!
berecruited··on Why Twitter Needs Its Power Users: They Play Host to Newbies
Very true... no matter what the power users do, they need Twitter to work!
berecruited··on Ask YC: Does choice of programming language matter to VCs?
They don't care so much about the language... but they certainly care about the ability to scale - which language can impact.
berecruited··on Michael Arrington: “I’m a Click-Whoring Jackass”
I actually like that Arrington is expressing opinion in his articles... the other authors on his staff mostly give the news in black and white. When Michael writes, at least it has an op-ed type feel to it and gets you thinking (whether or not you agree with him is a totally a different matter!).
berecruited··on Ask YC: Finding a New Job as a (Semi)Recent College Grad
Good post here about finding a start up job: http://ryanspoon.com/blog/2008/05/18/landing-a-great-start-u...

Also, what's your skillset? Depending on, I have a couple available opportunities... how should we contact you?!

berecruited··on The Miracle Fruit, a Tease for the Taste Buds
Whoa... thats $90 for 30 berries. I would pay for a couple but I really don't need $90 of miracle fruit that is probably hazardous considering:

1. I dont know this guy 2. I dont trust this guy 3. I dont trust his shipping either

berecruited··on The Miracle Fruit, a Tease for the Taste Buds
Add an affiliate tag and you can get a 10% kick-back on my taste 'infusion'... or maybe Microsoft should add it to their new CashBack payments.
berecruited··on Ask YC: Best Place to Sell a Website/Domains?
Anyone tried Mashable's web 2.0 forum?
berecruited··on Should Facebook Acquire FriendFeed, Twitter and/or Digg?
Any other acquisitions that make sense for Facebook?

I think Twitter and FriendFeed make lots of sense. Digg is also intriguing because of the traffic and news articles.

berecruited··on Ask YC: Best Analytics Product for Wordpress / Blogs?
I've heard a ton about getclicky... seems like they are gaining traction. I will have to try them out.
berecruited··on Grand Theft Auto IV Makes $600m. Lead Actor Makes $100k! Ridiculous...
This guy is completely delusional... people would play the game if my little sister did the voice overs.
berecruited··on San Jose is hell on earth
Very funny read - mostly because of the hyperbole and awesome formatting (including dead links). That said, I don't exactly agree with any of it!
berecruited··on Is there a site that lists startups that are hiring?
Good recap of this thread and some other advice on finding a great start up job. Worth reading: http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=193661

@Joshwa - terrific idea. I'd use that.

berecruited··on Disqus - After 5 Days on Disqus, I’m Turning Back to Wordpress Comments
I'd actually love to install Hacker News style comments... You?
berecruited··on A New SEO Business Model - Selling Your SEO Data / Logs?
Agree that for small collections of data - but imagine the logs on TechCrunch? Or a site that is in between those two? That data is very unique and very qualified. The interesting part is less how relevant the data is - but more how it has never been available before...
berecruited··on The Front Page Effect – Why I’d Rather Be on Techmeme than Digg
You are right - a great blog mention (like TechCrunch) is the most valuable... the value of a blog link quickly diminishes though as there aren't too many massively trafficked blogs.
berecruited··on The Front Page Effect – Why I’d Rather Be on Techmeme than Digg
I rank: Techmeme, Hacker News, Digg, Blog Mention, Aggregators, 2nd tier.

You?

berecruited··on The Other Startup Exit: SitePoint Marketplace
If you are open to trying SitePoint, DigitalForums tends to attract similar audiences / traffic. Listing is free too - though you need to 'qualify' with 25 forum posts.
berecruited··on Selling a Working Web 2.0 Website - Where to Sell?
Thanks for chiming in everyone. Hacker News continues to impress me - the community feedback is superb.

It is not beRecruited.com (http://www.berecruited.com) - which is doing quite well!!

It's a side project that I worked on called PopChatter (http://www.popchatter.com) - which was more of an experiment in Ruby on Rails than anything else. I simply don't have enough time these days to grow it and innovate (just not enough time in the day!).
