It's only click bait is that that is.
barrad0s··on Dianne Feinstein has died
"Just say aye". Embarrasing.
barrad0s··on NFTs Are – Finally – Worthless
finally what they always were?
barrad0s··on Hundreds of Thousands of Iraqis Were Killed in the War. One Was My Brother
We continue the good work by supplying weapons at taxpayer's cost to extend the war against the evil Russians and the definitelly not corrupt Ukranian government, instead of, idk, crazy idea, try to push for peace.
barrad0s··on Ask HN: Is StackOverflow Dying?
I used to contribute to another community at stack exchange and 100% stopped a few years back because of this. A handfull of individuals completely ruined the website for me. I haven't asked or answerd a question in years with the exception of the home improvement community.
barrad0s··on We are now 90 seconds to our doom
Would be hard for Maiden to write a song with this
barrad0s··on Ask HN: How many of you are open to Piracy again?
I don't know if this is what you're asking specifically, but I use justwatch.com to see where I can watch stuff. Sometimes (it happened to me last night) one of those weird internet channels has what you're looking for...
barrad0s··on Lula defeats Bolsonaro to again become Brazil’s president
A very dark day in Brasil's history. When half of the population decide to support a conviceted criminal, something is severely wrong.
barrad0s··on New Jersey legislators aim to ban most in-car subscriptions
wow good point. always weird having to fuel when driving through nj.
barrad0s··on Audi to join Formula 1 from 2026
I think because it wasn't known whether there would be 2 teams as rivals (porsche as well) even though they're both owned by VW, or they would compete under one name. I think othe other option was that they would only supply engines, if I remember correctly. Anyway, it's great too see them joining!
barrad0s··on U.S. economy just had a 2nd quarter of negative growth. Is it in a recession?
If the government changes the definition I guess we're not right?
barrad0s··on Gamedevs not baking in monetization are “fucking idiots”, says Unity CEO
One of those quotes that I bet can be taken extremely different when heard vs when read.
barrad0s··on Google almost convinced me to spend $400 on useless laser treatments
This is a great post.
barrad0s··on Jack Dorsey First Tweet NFT listed for $48M, ends with best offer of $280
haha exactly!
barrad0s··on Ask HN: How can scam callers fake a mobile phone number?
I don't know the answer to your question(s), but if you're curious, you can download an app right through the play store to fake your number. I used to prank my friends all the time.
barrad0s··on Ask HN: What are the purchases under $300 that have improved your life?
Bugassualt
barrad0s··on Amazon has ruined search and Google is in on it
There's also an even worse thing here. If you search for a product under shopping on google, something that is somewhat known like a certain TV model, and you'll see most SHOPPING results are from websites that actually don't sell anything, but rather will have a "product page" where either the buy button is disabled or redirects to amazon. They typically have much lower prices, or just low enough so you'll click.
barrad0s··on City pays $350k after suing “hackers” for opening Dropbox link it sent them
"The city will pay the defendants $230,000 in attorneys costs and $60,000 each in damages."
barrad0s··on Why Hasn't the Mainstream Media Pilloried 60 Mins for Spreading Misinformation?
Well Fox News is a cable channel.
barrad0s··on A man who ran out of air at the bottom of the ocean
There is a documentary about this, which I recently watched. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt9056818/?ref_=nm_knf_t1
barrad0s··on Cambridge's Ambitious Protected Bike Lane Law
There is already barely any parking in Cambridge, driving there already sucks... Let's see how much worse this is gonna get.
barrad0s··on Looking for a new CEO
I've stopped contributing to the Webmasters page a couple of years ago because of this.
barrad0s··on Stop Reading News (2013)
As far as TV goes, I made a choice about a year and a half ago to stop viewing any news on TV and haven't looked back. I like to think I'm informed, I will read certain things, or pursue things I think necessary or interesting, but I have abandoned all the nonsense on TV.
barrad0s··on Climate change and the 75% problem
This is interesting for cattles, think I saw it here a few weeks back. https://www.independent.co.uk/environment/cows-seaweed-metha...
barrad0s··on Facebook Says Hackers Stole Detailed Personal Data from 14M People
Oh yes I understand that very much, but I do what I can not to help them. The point I was making is about people who willingly put all of their info there, photos, addresses, location etc.
barrad0s··on Facebook Says Hackers Stole Detailed Personal Data from 14M People
I guess I don't really understand the frustration of some people. I do but I don't. I don't have a facebook account, or instagram, or any social media, haven't had one in many years. No one NEEDS to have one. I guess to me, if you don't want this info to be exposed, just don't have an account. Assume the worst can happen. This is not like other sites, I get that you're "trusting" them with your info, but you are willingly putting your information there, just don't.
barrad0s··on How to delete Facebook and not lose your friends and photos
Deleted mine about 5 years ago, don't have any social media and I survived.
barrad0s··on Another Dead Whale Is Reminder Of Plastic Problem
That's not a real picture. Kinda screws up the article a bit in my opinion, no need for that. Says right below the pic "A Greenpeace Philippines representation of a dead whale from ingestion of plastic. The representation is increasingly becoming a reality."
barrad0s··on The Rise and Fall of Atlantic City
Very interesting read for me in special. I happened to be there for the first time this past Saturday. What an awful place. Truly shady and scary. Dirty, it seemed like a ghost town.
barrad0s··on Anti-Web-Design Manifesto (2013)
I do agree as well.
