balb0a··on On writing (or not)
I recently came across internal family system model. I am testing it currently and it has huge promise. Very good book on topic from inventor Richard C. Schwartz: Internal Family Systems Therapy.

Also this is a nice podcast with therapy demonstration at the end: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f80xs3MN9mY

Hope it helps with making sense.

balb0a··on It's probably time to stop recommending Clean Code (2020)
Yes, good read.
balb0a··on Farm vehicles approaching weights of sauropods exceed limits for soil function
When you destroy/squeez fungus in the forest it takes centuries to recover[1]. In Prussia when they started with scientific forestry, productivity of the forrest dropped significantly after around 100 years[2].

Good times to come. I wonder why we look the other way, even when we have all the knowledge on our hands.

Two great books: [1]: The Hidden Life of Trees [2]: Seeing Like a State

balb0a··on Lack of sunlight makes our cells store more fat (2018)
Maybe as a possible help/hint. There are theories that you get sunburned more if you wear glasses. Something with a part of the region that does some kind of hormonal regulation.
balb0a··on Novel mind-body program outperforms other treatments for chronic back pain
Did you heard of this book, Pain Free at Your PC? For me it's hard put into practice because of the time demand, but exercises and reasoning is quite good.
balb0a··on FDA Approves First Covid-19 Vaccine
If you check my comment you will see that I agree that its good thing for people with associated diseases that can complicate recovery:).

So age and associated diseases should be deciding factor for every person. Or are you proposing something else?:)

balb0a··on FDA Approves First Covid-19 Vaccine
From ones body perspective. What is the reason to take vaccine risk if you are healthy <~50/have no disease that complicate covid recovery?

From societal perspective, why would you do it if you can transmit it in the same amount as if you are not vaccinated?

Doesn't makes sense to me, but well..

I do think that it's a good thing for people that have disease that can complicate covid recovery and older generations.

balb0a··on How two bored 1970s housewives helped create the PC industry (2015)
I would say very well known in the propaganda scene. You can check this "piano" article, I think it nicely shows the idea behind: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/edward-bernays-how-america-bo...
balb0a··on How two bored 1970s housewives helped create the PC industry (2015)
“We were bored doing the housewife thing,” recalls Ely today. “I was ready to be something.”

Sounds like the approach Edward Bernays would take

balb0a··on Experience: I spent 29 years in solitary confinement (2010)
Thomas Sowell would disagree on some points: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ERj3QeGw9Ok

But I don't live in America:).

Get out and sunbath, enough about supplements:)
balb0a··on 'Finally, a virus got me’: Scientist who fought Ebola and HIV reflects
I am just pointing this out because severe seasonal flu that appears in some years has reportingly ~0.1 fatality rate. Then my explanation would be that those two are comparable. Except covid spreads faster and therefore we see more death in shorter period?

Please poke holes in my theory:) I would like to se poking holes in my theory:)

balb0a··on 'Finally, a virus got me’: Scientist who fought Ebola and HIV reflects
I agree that tests have a high false positive rate, but still how would you interpret results we got?
balb0a··on 'Finally, a virus got me’: Scientist who fought Ebola and HIV reflects
In Slovenia we did random sample testing. Out of this we concluded that 3% of population had covid-19. This is 60000 people of which ~100 people die. This gives death rate around 0.17. Majority were people in elderly homes with many other diseases.
