axiomdata316··on Movie dialogue has gotten more difficult to understand
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that struggled understanding Tenet. I think it's almost impossible to understand that movie without subtitles (I've watched Tenet over five times and still struggle at parts, especially the end). Interesting point to is with subtitles it identifies the main character as the Protagonist. Just watching the movie with subtitles is very difficult to come to that conclusion.
axiomdata316··on On yak shaving and <md-block>, a new HTML element for Markdown
Nuts... I thought this was going to be a fun article about people that actually shave yaks and, a little bit about "a New HTML Element for Markdown". :-p
axiomdata316··on The 'impossible' crane shot from Soy Cuba (1964) [video]
Is this available to stream online anywhere?
axiomdata316··on Git as a Storage
If you are using Restic Backup aren't you coming close to what's being recommended here?
axiomdata316··on Android 12 is live in AOSP
Wasn't wireguard supposed to be released natively in this version? I didn't see anything in the release notes about this.
axiomdata316··on Dolby Atmos and Apple’s rewritten audio stack
Maybe that's a typo? 1989 sounds more accurate in the context.
axiomdata316··on Art student’s 407-piece hand-carved wooden clock (2016)
Thanks for the YouTube link. Auto translate to English subtitles worked good on interview parts.
axiomdata316··on Comma Three [video]
I bought the comma two about a month ago and really like it. Is there anything that comma three can do that the comma two can't do like lane changes without driver checking first, self navigation?
axiomdata316··on Hacker's push to secure the internet became a crucial part operating systems
The Business Insider @zx2c4 profile is unpaywalled at http://archive.today/ltskM
axiomdata316··on Corpus Clock
Lol! Purchasing this book was the very first online purchase I ever made from a very cool new upstart online bookstore called Amazon. <- Funny name I think. Not sure if it will stick around...
axiomdata316··on The Itch (2008)
Lol! Sorry. I would if I could!
axiomdata316··on Ant parasites that prolong the life of their host
>"The tapeworm-laden ants didn’t just outlive their siblings, the team found. They were coddled while they did it. They spent their days lounging in their nest, performing none of the tasks expected of workers. They were groomed, fed, and carried by their siblings, often receiving more attention than even the queen—unheard of in a typical ant society—and gave absolutely nothing in return."

I wonder if there is a human equivalent tapeworm that the Kardashians have ingested?

axiomdata316··on Linux and Powershell
I'm not sure if this is relevant but I tried all three of the Linux commands in Powershell and they worked as well.
axiomdata316··on Ask HN: Signal Down for You?
I'm trying to send message right now and it's not working.
axiomdata316··on Listenlater.fm – A Read-It-Later service for your ears
One suggestion. I ran into a hiccup when I was setting up the Chrome extension. It asked for the API from my account. I copied the API and pasted it into the extension but it didn't seem to work when I tried sending an article. I went back to the extension setting and realized that when I pasted the API number it added it to the default text saying to go to listenlater for the api code. Once I manually deleted this and left the API key in everything worked. Maybe you can update so that when you click into the box to enter API the explanation text auto removes itself.
axiomdata316··on Deep Frozen Arctic Microbes Are Waking Up
This feels like it would have potential for a Sci Fi thriller.
axiomdata316··on ReMarkable tablet open source tools and hacks
This is really great timing. I ordered mine a few months ago and am part of the "Batch 8" shipping. I just got the notification today that mine is about to ship.
axiomdata316··on ReMarkable tablet open source tools and hacks
I found YouTube videos help. Nice walkthroughs. Alot are for the first remarkable but I imagine in princable they work for both
axiomdata316··on The Time-Block Planner
Mine's arriving today! It's brand new and has been on pre-order.
axiomdata316··on Edward Bernays and the birth of public relations (2015)
I first learned about Bernays from attending a live episode of "Stuff You Should Know" in Los Angeles. The full show was about Edward Bernays. Hair nets and Bananas both owe their popularity to Bernays. The "Stuff You Should Know" podcast that eventually posted nicely covers all the points but I couldn't find it on their website since iHeart Radio bought them and removed their website.
axiomdata316··on Zappy – Screen capture tool
Windows 10 has a very nice app called Snip & Sketch. Just type snip after pressing Windows button.
axiomdata316··on Ask HN: Have you been infected by Covid-19? What is it like?
What's alarming and kind of ironic is that COVID 19 has a lack of symptoms compared to the common flu. Aches and pains sometimes for COVID 19 as opposed to aches and pains common for the common flu. Runny nose sometimes for COVID 19 but runny nose common for the Common Flu. Its almost to say if you feel really bad you probably don't have COVID 19 unless you really start having trouble breathing. It's helps me appreciate the need to stay home if I just start getting SOME of the symptoms for the flu like a fever. Don't wait for body aches or a runny nose.
axiomdata316··on Wikimedia Cookbook
I looked up wings and got Wings 3d user manual. Not quite as delicious.
axiomdata316··on Building a Simple VPN with WireGuard with a Raspberry Pi as Server
I have this router and set up the wg interface but got stuck at how to route all my home traffic through wg. Any recommendations on how to troubleshoot this part?
axiomdata316··on WireGuard is now in Linus' tree
I thought the Wintun driver was bundled with the WireGuard installation but if you need to install it separately I believe you can do it from https://www.wintun.net/

Hope it helps. The Windows client is very stable now.

axiomdata316··on L.A.'s Lost Transit
I doubt however that LA Metro will ever have the same range of the original Red Car. I never see the system going deep into Balboa Newport Beach in Orange County.
axiomdata316··on L.A.'s Lost Transit
This article reminds me of stories my grandfather had told me about how amazing the red car system was in Los Angeles and how buses replaced and ruined the system. The red car originally went from Los Angeles and ended all the way down to the end of the Peninsula in Newport Beach Orange County. Today if you go to the Pavilion in Newport Beach California you can see the end of the line portion that would rotate the red car. At the time I thought my grandfather was just talking about the good old days but this article gave me some good context on a good system ruined.
axiomdata316··on Deepfakes: MIT brings Nixon's Apollo disaster speech to life
More likely everything even legitimate things will be 'poo pooed' as fake. Believing in nothing is as dangerous as believing everything. It's both a form of credulity.
