Awesome, I just checked and had already upgraded at some point. I run the alias command below every now and then which keeps everything up to date.

Agreed, this would be a hard no and makes me think if feature updates will be on an even shorter lifecycle.

asadhaider··on How long til we're all on Ozempic?
I can answer this, I've been on Ozempic in the past and prescribed Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) currently (month 3).

I've had a medical cannabis prescription for many years and vaporise up to 3g a day which is quite a bit. It definitely interferes with my cravings for food, as you know the common 'munchies' effect, making me eat when I'm not really hungry or binge snacks.

I gave up on Semaglutide (Ozempic) after a few months, but Tirzepatide is working a lot more effectively and has been better.

Cannabis also helps a lot with the nausea side effect for me which can be particularly bad the first few days going up a dosage every month. It takes six months to titrate from the starter dose to full strength, if necessary.

Also the downside a lot of people don't talk about is that most people need to be on these drugs for life. They also aren't cheap.

asadhaider··on Andy Jassy's $214M salary is 'excessive' and should be vetoed – advisory firms
Such a misleading headline, the article even mentions his salary is $175k/year.

> Jassy took over as the CEO of Amazon from Jeff Bezos in July. In 2021, Jassy received $212,701,169 in total compensation, Insider reported in April, citing a proxy filing the company submitted. Only $175,000 of that came from his salary. The rest came from shares: He was awarded 61,000 shares that would vest over 10 years, worth $211,933,520, when he became CEO.

> "The way the SEC rules work we are required to report that grant as total compensation for 2021, when in reality it will vest over the next 10 years," an Amazon spokesperson told Insider in an emailed statement on Friday.

> "What this equates to from an annual compensation perspective is competitive with that of CEOs at other large companies and was approved by the Amazon Board of Directors," the spokesperson added.

asadhaider··on This Blog is now hosted on a GPS/LTE modem
According to this[0] which is a neat read anyway, it "has 256 MiB DRAM, 256 MiB NAND, and a single Cortex-A7 CPU clocked up to 1.3GHz."

You can run DNS, a VPN, or a small web server even on a VPS with 32MB of RAM so those are pretty cool specs.

asadhaider··on Switzerland votes against electronic ID system provided by private companies
Estonia does, their identity card stuff is pretty amazing and I remember reading about it a few years ago thinking it was truly ahead of it's time [0].

Looks like anyone can become an e-resident and apply [1], I'm unsure if this extends to the e-identify cards also or if they're for Estonian nationals only. I remember previously that anyone could apply for one however you had to go to an Embassy to submit information and biometrics.

asadhaider··on London will be overwhelmed by Covid in a fortnight says leaked NHS briefing
They are unfit for use as hospitals and you're right, there's no staff, hospitals around the country alone are struggling. There's no adequate places to even wash your hands due to toilets located sparsely in unsuitable places.

I've worked in Nightingale (London) and am on standby for Nightingale North West if needed. Luckily I didn't have to deal with any patients there and I hope we don't again.

asadhaider··on London will be overwhelmed by Covid in a fortnight says leaked NHS briefing
I believe it's back on standby as is the one in my city, Nightingale Hospital North West, in Manchester. The issue is staff though, there simply isn't enough qualified staff to work it alongside their hospitals.

I've been working as a volunteer nursing assistant in hospital A&E departments through St John Ambulance it's honestly just insane. I don't know what the plan is for Nightingale but we're focusing on getting mass vaccination centres setup currently and delivering the vaccines.
