It's totally predictable that big behemoths like Google can't innovate with the same velocity and focus as more nimble orgs like OpenAI. Even in its current panic mode, Google won't be able to compete against OpenAI and other competitors.
When Musk attacks "liberals" and "leftists" he is attacking many of his potential customers. He is also very loud about his right-wing politics and has become so divisive that people don't want to be associated with the Tesla brand.
Apple's approach to collaboration is particularly embarrassing when you have tools like Figma that enable teams to work seamlessly across devices and platforms.
Never heard of Avalonia before but Win development is a solved problem in the form of Electron. No, seriously. Microsoft's own frameworks are in various states of limbo and increasingly confusing to get started with.
Musk doesn't seem to believe in this version of Twitter and therefore has no issues dismantling it. There's still lots of damage done to Twitter the employer but I don't think it matters in the long run: there are always suckers who are willing to work for despotic leaders.
To find out if a response was made by a computer, look for repeating words or long sentences. ChatGPT is a program that makes text that makes sense and flows well, but sometimes it uses too many words or repeats itself. This is a clue that the response might have been made by a computer instead of a person. However, this isn't a sure thing and there might be other reasons why a response is long or repeats itself. Still, it's a good place to start.
This level of word salad will be more than enough in most cases. Give it another few years and I can see how this type of AI permeates all aspects of life in the same way code has.
Really depend son product and tour audience. Otherwise, just about any one would do - family, friends, colleagues - during the early days for usability testing.
We need to have a conversation about how most of these tools are about coping with anxiety, stress and information hoarding rather than handling complex work. I sometimes mess around Trello more than I do real work but at least I've stopped introducing new tools into my life.
Microsoft absolutely dominates corporate IT. Their Office 360 delivers to much values at a low cost that the corps suffer from mediocre MS products because it's all there through a single subscription.
The days of major distributed protocols like email is pretty much over. Once research orgs were replaced by corporations as the main force of Innovation, everything became a race to establish the next monopoly. If email was invented by, say, Google today it would be available through half a dozen of mediocre products with little to no industry support.
Shit I've ever thought about until now but I wonder how Adobe will cripple Figma to stop if from competing with their other products. I know tons of designers who do illustrations and simpler en graphics in Figma.
