Stating calories in VS calories out is not true because of X, Y or Z is like building a house by starting with the doorbell. Before you lay the foundations. Fundamentals before details.
To push this onto an unknowing general public is, imo, evil. These people should be sentenced like Heroin importers. Fent withdrawals, whilst short, are unadulterated hell. I have never felt a combination of physical, mental and spiritual pain like it and i have been through spinal fussion in my youth. The type of pain that changes a person for life.
UK is fairly comprehensive i know. Id assume the US is too.
Echoing comments below, please watch your language. You are part of the reason people struggle to hold their hand up and ask for help.
Coming up to two years clean from an IV habbit. So, also a "lost cause."
I feel if people had the slightest idea just how many people around them are high on some kind of opiate, and how indiscriminate addiction really is that this type of language would be less prevalent.
Congrats on beating the gorilla.
RIP.
I lift 5x, walk every where and swim LISS 3x a week. 173cm about 82kg. TDEE is ~3250 kcal. Currently shoot for 3500 a day. However, I only see my son on weekends. I bet my TDEE would be higher if had him every day.
Here are a couple of videos showing different ways to do it without the machine

As with the standard hyper. Start slow, good form without any weight.
Give it a try!
Foam rollers and myofascial balls definitely have controversy around them! But, anecdotal as it is, they work wonders for me and have been recommended by every physio i have seen.
Myofascial release ball and or foam roll glutes, rhomboids and rotator cuffs a lot.
Lifting regularly has really fixed my posture. Bar the odd injury due to bad form and tight hamstrings. Work on core and mobility before starting to lift heavy.
Seeing a physio every so often is worth its weight in gold. There are lots of prehab things that can be done but its still worth seeing an expert. You only get one body and it is not meant to sit all day.
Diet and years of training when coupled with the top tier genetics will get a person very far. Even with average genetics it will. My comment was in retaliation to how quickly people overlook the years of grind, dedication and hard graft.
Of course the drugs let guys get past their genetic limit but they should be used only when everything else in on point and has been for years. Hence the heirachy in my post. It's not a duality, plenty of grey there.
If it was all drugs the how come idiots like Boston Llyod are not Mr O?
I still follow the 1g per pound even though im aware its too much based on research. Its a habit now. I was just answering in the the context of why high protein in general. Not high protein zero carb. I should have made that clear.
Im also pretty sure he does most of his own cooking. The current Mr Olympia, Phil Heath, certainly does.
Diet > Training > Meal timing / cycling etc > Drugs.
I started on the opiates and benzos to self-medicate. I had all the symptoms, panic attacks, getting really ill whenever i took a break. Complete lack of perspective. Just stress from all sides, work, relationships, bills. Insane working hours for years. So, of course as my tolerance rose so did the dosage and strength.
CBT, therapy, meditation, exercise and stable routine are what i have utilised to get myself out of what i would call, without any sense of over-dramatising, hell.
It is not worth it. Please, please get help. There is no shame.
