I like doing research, it's fun and always changing and it's cool developing new techniques. Publishing and prestige are sort of like the "have-tos" of research, to me. Kind of like doing coding sprints and JIRA tickets are have-tos for developers.
You're the first person to tell me accreditation or clearances are a negative, but maybe we apply for different jobs. I'm going to continue to believe the opposite until you show some evidence.
In the US the treatments are absolutely limited by bed availability. And towing around a statistic like "less people are being treated" is the entire point the not shill world is trying to make. Do you know why less people are being treated? Because the beds are full of people with COVID and hospitalized COVID patients take longer to treat than most other hospital stays. So the beds are being filled and not emptied at regular rates leading to less people being treated. Maybe it's extremely different in the UK but here in the US people with your attitude are a huge problem.
Yeah but they always think they have a gun, or so they say. It's not always having a gun pointed at you, it's the threat that it could happen. Very real to American police that keep them on edge, where in other countries that risk is lower so there is less sensitivity to a suspect moving there arm near a pocket or behind their back if they are far away from the officer (which makes it naturally harder to see what they are going for). Not saying it's a good thing, it's just a large contributing factor.
Lmfao, sure, if you take Facebooks arguments at face value even though they are obviously wrong. But hey, who cares if the argument is true if its a launching point for a moronic personal grievance to be aired.
Its really a great system we have here --- get insanely wealthy off the backs of Americans who pay tons more for basic services and then when it's time to pay back run off and keep your change. No wonder America is doing so well.
Yeah they probably have two income that get pretty close to 130k, or they get government subsidies and credits to make up the difference. Raising kids is extremely expensive but also subsidized heavily, and those are probably not accounted for in the "required salary" from this tool.
Lots of parallels here as well between research/academia and consulting -- the senior PI is the name on the proposals to get funded but everyone knows the work is done by grad students at exploitative wages to keep research cheap.
Definitely! Dollar tree is the place to get things like dishes and cleaning supplies. You get the same bottle for $1 that is 1.88 at Walmart or whatever. I'll only buy things that the dollar store I KNOW are cheaper though, sometimes you'll think you're getting a deal and then the same product at Walmart is 90 cents.
While your points are good your last paragraph projects a lot of weaknesses onto your readers. Do you believe you're the first person to come up with these points and realize them? Or perhaps that someone could have taken an opposite approach of yours -- moving from very religious to non-religious and can see the same behaviors? And then you continue to assume the only way forward is to perpetrate that behavior.
All while claiming other people don't have the cognitive tools you do. I'm amazed this comment didn't get downvoted.
This seems like an old school and specific way of describing a much larger goal using NNs and auto encoders. To take data and reduce its dimensionality, while getting a (near) perfect reconstruction of the original input from the latent space data. Reducing (haha pun) this broad effort to just "data compression" leaves a lot of nuance and use out of sight.
Am I the only person who experiences longer load time on amp pages? I literally have to click the little paperclip at the top of an amp page to go to the regular one to load in like 50% of the time. Is it because I use Firefox or something?
99% of companies? Definitely not. The skills needed to do DS in business or healthcare are not very correlated with doing DS for the physical sciences. Which is the whole point of this comment thread, sure you can understand DL, but you also have to have an understanding of the field to know what type of DL to use. For example, in my role, I came with knowledge of machine learning but had to learn complex fluid physics to be able to know what type of DL techniques to apply or develop.
Imagine how high apples stock price will go when they're forced to allow porn on the app store. They're missing out on so much potential revenue right now.
