I occasionally use OsmAnd+ by picking up my destination from GMaps. It works nicely (I like the offline option it provides). The one drawback is perhaps the traffic data, but otherwise it's really good with a good choice of different map types.

I guess I'm eligible to answer this as I'm both a Linux user and a stick shifter.

I hate Linux for when things fall-apart. But I also know most of the things are being made by devs because of their passion. My hardware doesn't fail because Linux is blindly arrogant, but because of the hardware vendors who don't support the platform or me (as I paid them money)

Manual transmissions are an extra level of engagement that's fun to drive and useful in many casses. My 86bhp car lacks torque and power, specially combined with its heavy metal body. When I need to overtake and I lack the power for it I can downshift and pass. Add in the rev matching, and it makes it sweeter and perfect.

In a country like India, you pay a good price for a reliable automatic. So that's money saved.

It's the same difference as a home cooked meal and a takeout.

Apple doesn't get slack from me because they know the hardware, the software and still manage to mess it up with loyal fans defending their bad decisions

There are some solutions if you'rere willing to look into it. Not a 100% solution, but they work amazingly.

Edit: I thought about what you said, and your claim is simply wrong. It still stores the per user reaction, otherwise it won't be able to show me that I've disliked a particular video. There's honestly no good reason to hide the dislike count, other than to please a certain group of users.

Yes. Normally some people (like me) can't afford to buy the highest spec laptop. Thus, I'll be going with a lower memory and storage version of a machine, and then expect to upgrade the RAM and storage when I've got enough. That's exactly what I did with my current Thinkpad T440. And for a current gen Apple, I can either buy a 8 or 16GB machine, and the price difference is pretty significant for me.

Firefox has a config option to not close window with lasttab. I actually find it quite useful. If you're on Chromium based browser, pretty sure there will be something similar

I hate how some websites break when you go aggressive on cleaning tracking elements. One such example is Hey mail. There are many others, but for this one reason I moved to Chromium for Hey mail and all websites that break after privacy protection enabled, for everything else, it's Firefox.

Apart from the usual bells and whistles of KDE Connect, I have my devices connected to each other over awireguard tunnel. This way KDE Connect works even if the devices aren't on the same network. It was the best thing I did for myself!
