My favourite feature is where all of your keystrokes are logged and your (stupid) webcam in the arrow key records you and uploads your information to a server in China.

I as a customer don't want your app from outside the App Store, from where I know I can get apps that protect my privacy and information.

What's wrong with that?

Willing to bet that with some improvements to the original design the results would've been even better.

For example:

– Your navigation at the top is illegible. Theres very little contrast and it's hard to read. Make that more clear, higher contrast.

- Your main CTA ("Japanese candy surprises in your mailbox twice a month." [Email]) is also hard to read because of the orange and the custom font. Swap out the orange for a more vibrant color (maybe the orange color of the button) and use a nicer font that's easier to read.

- MAKE THE FONT SIZE BIGGER

- Add in some of the elements you added in the new design: When the next box is going out, etc.)

Your original design had an air of authenticity and honesty to it. The bought template seems like a copycat.

Keep (and improve!) the original!

Short answer: Capitalism, lobbying, and putting profits over everything.

Because ads make people money.

So you think Tim Cook will wake up tomorrow and realize there’s money in advertising?

They could’ve done that years ago but they are not in the business of advertising. They sell hardware with complimentary services and ads are an accessory to that mission — not the mission itself.

Let me clarify for you: They’re not _seriously_ in the ads business and they never will because it’s full of privacy issues. They’re using ads here to help people find the app they’re looking for - that’s it. It’s contained within the App Store to help people find ads. How much rev has apple made from iAd? Prob not a lot

Apple is in the hardware business. They don’t want to get into ads.
