A coin toss isn't exactly 50% for both sides in a real life scenario, hence the difficulty to reproduce the experiment exactly like its theoretical description. A sequence of 10 coin tosses resulting in heads/tails is not impossible even if it is hard to reproduce, it simply has an absurdly low probability of ocurring.
This focus on the theoretical side of things, the 'comfy confines of calculation', isn't a bad thing, the paradox is still an interesting thought experiment.
I bought this book and did find it amazing, the first exercises are very good in showing how you Can draw, specially the inverted picture exercise. However, I struggled to find the material with which to do some of the later exercises and ended up putting it aside.
Procrastination is often caused by the urge to find a small comfort to escape discomfort. Checking your email account in the middle of a difficult task, checking the news, etc. Letting go of this urges helps you stop procrastinating. There are no practical methods explained in this article but the main idea is a solid one that may help people overcome this problem.
"The old book 'Sinjungdonggukyojisungnam' (Revised Handbook of Korean Geography) complied in the 16th century wrote that there is a lair west of Pubyok Pavilion in Mt. Kumsu."
Revised by the Ministry of Truth?
I never could adapt to the shape of the Vita. I had to hold it in a very awkward position to avoid touching accidentally the touch sensitive back panel. This seems like a viable option for me to play games released in the console and with a good price since I already own a ps3 with controllers.
Very nice move from Sony, the low price makes their games available to those not wanting to spend the extra money in their 'big' consoles.
But the article itself is about a specific characteristic of analog photography. The old way is dead in some aspects but through the usage of new technologies(in this case smartphones) it can live on with its nuances. Its about the preservation of analog photography and not photography as a whole.
I read the speech in English class when studying different types of writing assignments. We examined it for its structure rather than its content. Studying speeches may prove valuable when preparing oral presentations for instance.
From my experience those slow complicated things are often avoided by developers even if it would allow them to delve further in some obscure interesting programming. The programmer's performance is also measured by their ability to achieve the goals within the defined deadlines and accepting a task just because it's interesting even if it means a big delay is not very common. At least in my working environment which is very deadline driven(as I assume most are).
But I am not dismissing your argument on the delay imposed by the extra layer between the project manager and the developer, specially if they have no programming experience.
But its weird that Russia suddenly decided to grant him this safe pass after denying him asylum in order to maintain the relations with the USA. Could there be a hidden agenda somewhere?
I feel like this is more of a gateway for applying for asylum in some embassies, as required by some countries, rather than an opportunity to stay in Russia indefinitely, or at least for an year until the next renewal.
I was specially ashamed to hear that my country had blocked Bolivia's President plane. An action that was absolutely uncalled for and for which we had no explanation from our government.
I am really looking forward to the impact that Firefox OS is going to have in the mobile market. There is definitely still space for a highly-featured low-priced smartphone and the HTML only is a plus for those not willing to put the time in learning how to program for Android or iOS, giving it a small edge apps-wise.
A good option for series to still profit from advertisements even if they are pirated is to insert them in video instead of the regular break cuts that can easily be edited out. Thus, even if the show is pirated the consumer would still be exposed to advertising. The problem here is that we would have to bear with those lame, sort of 'watermark', adds. There may be a way for shows to cope with piracy in a profitable way.
I guess you could always enter your address but not your name. In case of trouble you could always argue that it was sent from/to someone else and has no connection to you.
I totally understand the difficulties involved, it would be impossible to start working worldwide from the very beginning. As with everything else I will have to wait for it to come to Europe. The problem is both the waiting time and the number of companies for which it isn't worth it to explore markets outside the US.
He just said that it wasn't the technical definition for the simple language used. The note is not directly related to the algorithm he then explains.
Dynamic Programming can be seen as divide and conquer but using memoization to avoid recalculations.
The "subproblems easier to solve" are not easier complexity-wise but easier in the sense that we are solving a smaller subinstance of the main problem.
This is not by any means my field of study but i do agree that placebo components should always be disclosed in order to turn these kind of tests more transparent.
However, how can we prove that something is 100% biologically inert? We can't account for all the unknown effects, is there any such 'ingredient'? I guess that at least the used placebo should be proven to not affect directly anything directly related to the hypothesis.
Well yeah I did try that and I played in a couple in the past but the main problem with that solution is the stress involved. Its totally different when you are playing with friends just for the sake of it, when someone plays a little rougher everything's alright quickly afterwards. In a league, and I strongly believe this is a cultural thing, people tend to lose Lots of time complaining and I end up enjoying it much less.
I've tried this approach and it works but there are situations when one can't go alone. In my case I like to play football(soccer, if you will) and it requires a minimum of 10 to play, it's extremely stressful when we get the people, book the field and when we arrive there we are always short by one.
If you are buying the food are you not entitled to photograph it? It does make sense in the "Chef's Table" and I understand the flash ban in most cases but how does photographing your own food in your own table affect other customers?
It took me a couple of minutes to remember the pascal triangle due to the way you are presenting the triangle. I'd rather have it structured as such:
1
1 1
1 2 1
...
It makes it easier to understand when you say 'the two numbers to the right and left on the row above'. However, the way you present it may make it easier to find a solution since it hints to storing the numbers in an array that can be used in each iteration and highlights the relations between the positions of the numbers. But i guess much of this shouldn't be a problem to experienced programmers.
I suppose they take into account both those kind of direct visits to their website and the synchronization to their servers when you update some file in your local dropbox folder. I am not sure but it would make more sense.
I guess it is the right time for such a review of how they work as they are on an early stage of deployment. They will benefit greatly security-wise from it.
