aaa_aaa··on The Drivers Cooperative: New York’s driver-owned ride-hailing app
> FOSS is a great path for workers to seize the means of production.

Good for people who works for themselves but please can we stop implying they are doing this for pushing communist ideals?

aaa_aaa··on Don't Take VC Funding – It Will Destroy Your Company
> On a quick side note, let’s talk about lottery winners for a moment. Their situation might seem quite similar. After receiving their winnings, they often end up unhappy, broke, or worse yet, dead.

According to current research, this is false.

aaa_aaa··on JEP 450: Compact Object Headers
Just guessing that Cache throughput increase with the memory reduction may offset most performance issues.
aaa_aaa··on Master Plan Part 3
Why no mention of the elephant in the room AKA Nuclear energy?
aaa_aaa··on Bob Lee, former CTO of Square, has died after being stabbed in San Francisco
This sounds like a very lame excuse for failing progressive policies.
aaa_aaa··on Remembering Bob Lee
More than 15 years ago I was an avid follower of him on software development. He was an excellent developer and a good man. This is very very sad, condolences to his family.
aaa_aaa··on Ending an Ugly Chapter in Chip Design
Also why emphasis that G&M are women? This sounds like creating an unnecessary protectional bias for them.
aaa_aaa··on Twitter's Recommendation Algorithm
Then there is Go and C#.
aaa_aaa··on Twitter's Recommendation Algorithm
Progressives have totally lost their minds.
aaa_aaa··on The Diversity of Arabic Scripts
Traditional way of studying Arabic calligraphy is extremely demanding. Probably one of the hardest arts to master. It is admirable that Mr. Zakariya passed the gauntlet

IMO, currently Openai api is slow and not ready for production use for real time scenarios.
aaa_aaa··on America’s banks are missing hundreds of billions of dollars
This is false. Just look at amount of money pumped, it is easy to see the skyrocketing line in graphs. It is not the only but the main reason of inflation.
aaa_aaa··on UBS agrees to buy Credit Suisse
Except both crises were caused or amplified by the governments. Not "we".
aaa_aaa··on 'Financial Times' Issues 103-Year-Old Correction (2017)
Oh where is the free market in this?
aaa_aaa··on 'Financial Times' Issues 103-Year-Old Correction (2017)
"John Maynard Keynes, the economist who famously advocated for public spending to stimulate economies during recession, knew about the deception, the researchers say. In a memo marked "Secret" he called it "a masterly manipulation," while also warning that it was not sustainable in the long run."

I could not help noticing the hypocrisy of him. Also when I read the end of the paragraph I chuckled recalling his famous "In the long run we are all dead"

aaa_aaa··on Changes at YC
It should not be bizarre. Everybody should adapt and act accordingly, save money and keep your axe sharp. No job is forever, no employer is your friend or family.
aaa_aaa··on Ethically Sourced Lena Picture
Just no.
aaa_aaa··on The lights wink out in Asia
At least they used a decent map projection.
aaa_aaa··on Twitter restricted in Turkey in aftermath of earthquake
Typical state excuse, "false information". Also there was growing anger, they cannot control it like the mainstream media. Media will only show the actions blessed by the state.
aaa_aaa··on Starting February 9, we will no longer support free access to the Twitter API
Do you refer to yourself as `we`?

Yes they did. Check supply charts.
aaa_aaa··on Flexport slashes 20% of global workforce over weak 2023 volume forecast
No they did not print more than US in last 3 years. And their inflation is getting higher.
aaa_aaa··on Flexport slashes 20% of global workforce over weak 2023 volume forecast
Inflation mostly caused from extreme money printing.
aaa_aaa··on Twitter's anti-Mastodon filter evasion
I dont think it feels threatened. Most migrated Mastodon users dislike Musk and they deliberately rub him the wrong way.
aaa_aaa··on Rust: State of GUI, December 2022
That will probably be Fuchsia, if it lives.
aaa_aaa··on Twitter engineer: I thought I’d been hacked. It turned out I’d been fired
Why so? Without control freaks, I think Twitter is a better cess pool now.
aaa_aaa··on Huawei phones automatically deleting videos of the protests?
How is a totalitarian state's actions are related with MIT/BSD anyway? It is absurd to think that states care about software licenses.
aaa_aaa··on Rusty ownership and the lifecycle’s stone
Is it too much to ask for an article without memes, jokes and puns?
