UrineSqueegee··on Grok 4 Launch [video]
I assume grok 4 heavy might be the same model with thinking turned to the max
UrineSqueegee··on I used o3 to profile myself from my saved Pocket links
o3 on the webui has a tiny context as do all the models
UrineSqueegee··on ChatGPT testing a mysterious new feature called 'study together'
i've never even remotely gotten that idea except maybe with GPT's?

studying is what I assume a very large chunk of their userbase is using their service for, and they are trying to compete with the extremely successful Notebook LM

UrineSqueegee··on A new, faster DeepSeek R1-0528 variant appears from German lab
they have reduced the token output by 20% and the benchmark scores have decreased by 10% of the original model.
UrineSqueegee··on Define policy forbidding use of AI code generators
if AI using books to train isn't copyright infringement then the outputted code isn't copyrighted material either
UrineSqueegee··on Gemini CLI

UrineSqueegee··on Watching o3 guess a photo's location is surreal, dystopian and entertaining
I am honestly baffled by these comments, the few times i've given it photos to guess the location, it couldn't guess it even remotely close.
UrineSqueegee··on Improving recommendation systems and search in the age of LLMs
I have the exact opposite experience, recently when a playlist I have is over, I find that every recommended track that plays after, I love so much I end up putting in my playlist
UrineSqueegee··on LearnLM: An experimental task-specific model for learning science principles (2024)

UrineSqueegee··on NCSC, GCHQ, UK Gov't expunge advice to "use Apple encryption"

UrineSqueegee··on What is vibe coding? How creators are building software with no coding knowledge
I run my own model locally?
UrineSqueegee··on What is vibe coding? How creators are building software with no coding knowledge
I see many gatekeepers in the comments. I've made hundreds of small apps and scrips for me with with vibe coding, i dont want them maintainable, I dont want them safety critical, I dont want to launch a rocket with them.

I just want a free script or addon that will do its job instead of paying someone on upwork to do it for me. simple as.

Additionally it's only up from here. The agents will be able to do maintainable code and safety critical code at some point in the future. It's not all gonna happen overnight.

UrineSqueegee··on GPT-4.5
with 4.5? Why? It's only meant for creative writing.
UrineSqueegee··on GPT-4.5
It's priced like this because it can generate erotica.
UrineSqueegee··on Trump's national-capitalism likes to flaunt its strength, but it is fragile
thats why since nationalism started dying in europe and the usa they both have been on a downwards trend?
UrineSqueegee··on A SpaceX team is being brought in to overhaul FAA's air traffic control system
I don't want to have to copy paste my other comment like a bot.

You're clearly not able to think straight because you're too biased.

Space X has about a dozen different military, security and space contracts with the US gov, at least 7 of them under Biden.

UrineSqueegee··on A SpaceX team is being brought in to overhaul FAA's air traffic control system
>What guarantees that Musk's team is the best to do this on-time, on-budget, and on-spec?

SpaceX has been a government contractor for years, consistently delivering innovative solutions, reducing costs, and achieving milestones that traditional aerospace companies struggled with.

Biden alone assigned 4 national security contract to Space X during his term, a notable one being NSSL.

UrineSqueegee··on A SpaceX team is being brought in to overhaul FAA's air traffic control system
>Musk has a pattern of behavior and this fits it. This is pure corruption.

You must be lost? Please take your Musk derangement syndrome somewhere else.

UrineSqueegee··on Trump's national-capitalism likes to flaunt its strength, but it is fragile
I don't know how this author wrote this with a straight face.

"Rising nationalism will only accelerate this decline and disappoint public expectations, the economist argues in his column."

Nationalists are exactly what you need for a country to do better in any sector. They foster national unity, ensuring a cohesive society that works toward common goals. They prioritize economic protectionism, strengthening domestic industries and reducing reliance on foreign markets. They bring political stability, allowing for decisive leadership and effective governance. They invest in military strength, ensuring national security and strategic independence. They preserve cultural identity, reinforcing national pride and resilience. They promote civic engagement, leading to stronger governance and a more involved public.

This isn't decline. It is the foundation of a nation's success.

UrineSqueegee··on A SpaceX team is being brought in to overhaul FAA's air traffic control system
" Duffy said the team from SpaceX went to Virginia to “get a firsthand look at the current system, learn what air traffic controllers like and dislike about their current tools, and envision how we can make a new, better, modern and safer system.”"

I don't understand how anyone can be reasonably against this? They are not going to just overhaul everything overnight, they are going to upgrade the system based on ATC feedback.

UrineSqueegee··on The EU Digital Services Act

UrineSqueegee··on OpenAI launches ChatGPT Gov for U.S. government agencies

UrineSqueegee··on Startup DeepSeek says it was hit with 'large-scale malicious attacks'
I remember back a few years maybe a decade, Reddit had done something very bad and everyone was looking to migrate. and there spawns Voat, a fantastic website that did everything Reddit did but better. This lasted for about 2 days until it got hit with a massive never ending ddos attack that I don't think the website ever recovered from. After that it was seemingly drowning in nazi spam posts and the owner ended up abandoning it after some years.

Kinda irrelevant rant but this situation reminds me of this. Every time someone disrupts the big dicks of the space they lash out. I've seen the smearing campaign already start on Threads.

UrineSqueegee··on Ties between Google's Project Nimbus and Israel's military
>a Wired investigation found public statements

Well then it's not really hidden is it then?

Google has deep ties with the Tel Aviv start up world. Their plan currently is to buy Cybersecurity company Wiz for 26b.

UrineSqueegee··on If AI chatbots are the future, I hate it
He is not talking to an AI chatbot, that's a decision tree program. Is this a joke? Why does this have so many upvotes in a technical website. This is embarrassing.
UrineSqueegee··on If AI chatbots are the future, I hate it
ignoring the logical leaps made here, there a huge number of steps in can tick off, like collecting information, common troubleshooting steps and all that being fed to the live agent at the end, it might seem like "nothing accomplished" to you because you're shallow minded, but in reality its extremely useful.
UrineSqueegee··on If AI chatbots are the future, I hate it
Is this thread comprised from bots or just plain ignorance?

AI Chatbots have been outperforming human agents in every category imaginable. Why wouldn't you want to talk to an AI agent until it can't help you and routes you to a human?

Human wait times have always been insane, upwards of 30 minutes for any service i've used, why not just talk to an AI NOW until a human can come online?
