I once took up a lot of space to be a super productive engineer and only ended up being isolated. The business saw that some engineers were saying things worked great and were easy, so more responsibility was thrown on me and the other engineers moved to another project that needed headcount. Me and another guy ended up building on and maintaining what used be a reasonably sized team. It got on me because I made sure to know everything so I could make it as great as I could. This sounds good, but this particular business didn't care about me at all, I was just another gear.
I've met "productive" engineers that got things done really quickly from the business perspective, then moved on to being awesome somewhere else. But, they also took shortcuts, didn't write documentation, and made things unmaintainable. When I joined the team after they were being awesome somewhere else, I had to do things like guess hostnames and find out how and where things were running..
The people I've liked working with the most have been parents. The boundaries are more clear, they value stability, and aren't heros.
I don't understand what a stakeholder is in this context. Also, why are licenses involved? What does this even mean?
Does it do hand written notes and annotations? What about meta information like highlighting? I am also curious if LLMs will get better because more access to information if it can be effectively extracted from PDFs.
I suggest you look at historical trends for USD to CAD and trends for home prices vs income in Canada.
Why is Russia at war with Ukraine?
ChatGPT tells me it's because of "western alignment". Trump told reporters 1m people died. Seems a bit excessive to me for political ideas.. I'd have an easier time believing it's a resource conflict or some oil field being liberated or wtv.
I used to play with Twitters firehose back in the day and there's quite a lot of personal data you derive from private accounts. We could tell the city someone likely lived if they followed a certain amount of people from a specific city, etc. Could also guess their gender with 95% accuracy with just using n-grams from their tweets. We'd test our algorithms with public accounts.
I think there's too much power and money in personal information for it to stop.
My belief is that to make friends and build connections, one of the only ways is to solve problems or face adversity together. Adversity meaning: "How do I do this bouldering route? It's so tricky.", etc. I see people pointing at social media, but I don't think this is the issue. I think the issue is that life is boring; most problems are solved. There's nothing to talk about. Why go learn guitar when AI can make a song for you?
"The academics estimated that the cost of treating illnesses connected to this pollution was valued at $1.5bn in 2023, up 20 per cent from a year earlier. They found that the overall cost was $5.4bn since 2019."
Note that pollution is not defined in the article.
MS is more common in northern climates as well, but afaik it's not higher than average in NB.
Source: I have spent quite a bit of time in Moncton.
I'm not advocating for the company, but the statement in the comment is shallow. I was a̶b̶u̶s̶e̶d̶ assaulted while employed there, which is why I left, but my comment stands.
The proposal is nice, but a bit shallow.
