I would ask you to elaborate, but I guess that'd be pointless

Wait, so you're suggesting developers shouldn't adhere to specs but instead develop their tools / libraries according to whatever they feel it is the cool kids currently do?

I was getting ready to write an angry comment that you've got an error in your thinking / maths, because my intuition tells me that doesn't feel right.

I've run the numbers myself and am still in disbelief that raising 1,000 kg by 1 meter is the energy equivalent of an AA battery (= 20% iPhone 15 charge)

Titan2189··on API Shouldn't Redirect HTTP to HTTPS
How is this not more upvoted? HTTP Code 426 sounds like the best code to send?
Titan2189··on API Shouldn't Redirect HTTP to HTTPS
I'd argue your reasoning is incorrect. By the time your service is developed you would have already changed it to https, as during development every time you tried your API keys sent via http got disabled. So an in-the-wild MITM would never get to see your http request

Go with the time and accept that 2FA everywhere is good and the norm. As someone else mentioned: Browser-integrated password managers can autofill 2FA for you, meaning there's no extra hassle needing to lookup, copy, paste & confirm an extra step.

> ambient temperature within a data center often increases during the summer months

What? Isn't your Data Center supposed to be temperature controlled, where the A/C has a setpoint which it's keeping the entire environment to within a degree?

Being able to tell what season it is based on your HDD SMART temperature (armchair expert here) sounds bad.
